All praises are due to Allah, Lord of the Universes. All praises are due to Allah, the First, the Last, the Manifest, the Hidden, the One who has Might and Power over all things. All praises are due to Allah who is the Owner of the Kingdom! He gives power to whom He wills, and takes power from whom He wills; and He bestows honor upon whom He wills, and He disgraces whom He wants. In His Hand is the Good, and He is able to do all things.
And may all peace and blessings be upon the The Prophet of the Two Holy Sanctuaries, The Imam of the Two Qiblas, Our Intercessor in the Two Worlds, The Master of the Qaba Qawsayn, The Beloved of the Lord of the Two Easts and the Two Wests, The Grandfather of al-Hasan and al-Husayn, the the Mercy to the Universes, Sayyidina Muhammad (AS), and upon his noble family and blessed companions, especially upon the Khulafa-e-Rashideen, Hz. Siddik el-Ekber, Hz. Faruk el-Azam, Hz. Zul-Nurayn, and Hz. Shah-e-Mardan, and all those who follow them until the Last Day.
Ayyuhal Mu’minoon. O Believers. Welcome to you. Welcome to you on a blessed day. Welcome to you on a beloved day. Welcome to you on an honored day. Welcome to you on a day that is celebrated by the Inhabitants of Paradises. Welcome to you on a day that is celebrated by all those who believe. Welcome to you on the Holy Day of Jummah, on the Eleventh Day of the Holy Month of Rabiul-Awwal. Welcome to you as the Universes prepare to enter into the blessed Twelfth Day of Rabiul Awwal, the Holy Mawlid of the Most Beloved Messenger, Sayyidina wa Habibina wa Mawlana Muhammad (asws).
O Believers! O Nation of Muhammad (asws)! Understand that the birth of Rasulallah (asws) was not like your birth or my birth. It was the birth of the the Sahib el-Law-laka, it was the birth of the Master for whose sake all of creation was brought forth. On the day of the birth of Habibullah (asws), the Kaaba, the Ancient House, it spoke! And it said to the people, it announced to everyone, ‘O men of Quraysh! The time of birth has come for the Light of this world, the Glory of the world to come, the shining Lamp of Paradise, Muhammad bin Abdullah (asws) to emerge from his mother’s womb. He is to be a great prophet, he will cleanse this holy house of the dirtiness and idols that are polluting my area, and he will make me pure and pristine once more with the light of true faith.’ This is what the Kaaba spoke.
There were thousands of signs and miracles that happened announcing the birth of Holy Prophet (asws). When the Holy Prophet (asws) was born, all the idols that were at the Kaaba fell down and broke. The fire of the fire-worshippers that had been burning non-stop for 1,000 years suddenly was put out. The palace of the Persian king started shaking and its 14 balconies crashed to the earth. The lake of Sawah in Persia was dried up.
The Light that was coming out from the womb of the Mother of the Holy Prophet (asws), it was so bright that from Makkah she was able to see the palaces of Basrah in Syria. And when the time for the birth of Rasulallah (asws) came, she heard a voice from the Heavens saying, ‘Open all the gates of the Heavens and the Paradises for the birth of Muhammad (asws).’
Hz. Amine Hatun, our mother and the mother of the Prophet (asws), is saying that Heavenly Creatures took Holy Prophet (asws) and she heard a Heavenly Voice saying, ‘Take Muhammad all over the Earth. Show him to every spiritual being; the Jinn, human beings, angels, birds, and wild beasts. Give to him the shape of Adam(as), the knowledge of Sheeth, the courage of Nuh, the closeness of Abraham, the tongue of Ismail, the contentment of Ishak, the eloquence of Salih, the wisdom of Lut, the glad tidings of Yaqub, the strength of Musa, the patience of Ayyub, the obedience of Yunus, the protection of Dawud, the love of Danyal, the reverence of Ilyas, the perfection of Yahya, and the zuhd of Isa, and dress him in the qualities of the prophets.’
Upon the birth of Holy Prophet (asws), all of the sheytans they became terrified and screamed. Yes, only sheytans are upset and do not celebrate the birth of Rasulallah (asws). And the small sheytans asked Iblis what had happened. And he told them, ‘It is because of the Prophet Muhammad (asws) mighty and glorious, the son of Abdullah, son of Abdul-Muttalib who is born in Mecca tonight. He has the power to demolish all idols and defeat all unbelief in the whole wide world. He will bring the Light of Islam and spread faith from east to west; no place will remain on earth where the call of Tawhid has not been heard, and the unbelievers will be smitten, they will be hit and they will be humiliated. No trick and no deception will prevail against his influence. The Revelation he will bring will watch over his nation, and his religion and law will remain valid and in place until the Day of Judgment, his followers being assured of the Lord’s Forgiveness and Mercy.’
O Believers! Even sheytan was understanding the holiness and the greatness of the birth of Holy Prophet (asws). It is a shame on the Nation of Muhammad (asws) that they are not understanding the distinction, the importance and the value of this day. Sit for just a moment, and understand how important the birth of Holy Prophet (asws) is. In this Day of Mawlid, we should sit, we should concentrate, we should reflect to think about how we make his birth alive in our lives. How can we change our lives in this Holy Mawlid Day?
Listen to the words of Hz. Safiya bint Abdul Muttalib, ‘The Holy Prophet (asws)’s aunt, who was present when Holy Prophet (asws) was born. She said when Rasulallah (asws) was born, straight away he went into sujud, into sajdah, into prostration. O Believers! What did he say?
Yes, he spoke. Straight from his mother’s womb and he went into sujud, and he spoke. He said, ‘La ilaha il-Allah, Innee Rasulallah— Ummati, Ummati! There is nothing worthy of worship except Allah, and I am the Prophet of Allah- O My Ummat! O My Ummat! He was calling to us. To you and to me. ‘O my Ummat.’
O the nation of the Muhammad (asws), from the moment of his birth, the Holy Prophet (asws) was calling out to Allah, and he was praying for us. Because the mission of the Holy Prophet (asws), it is to clean and bring his Ummat back to Allah. From the moment of his manifestation into this world, the Holy Prophet (asws) was running after his mission, running in the Way of Allah, to bring us back to Allah swt the way that Allah swt has created us in, which is in the most perfect form, in Ahsani Taqweem.
O the Ummat of Muhammed(asws), the ummat that Holy Prophet (asws) was praying for from his birth to his veiling, what are we running after, from our birth to our death? Are we running after our Prophet? Are we running after his mission? Are we running to help those who have inherited his work? Or are we those who have turned away from our Prophet? As Imam al-Busiri is saying, giving us lesson, in the Qasida Burdah, ‘We have done a zulm, we have all done a cruelty to the Sunnah of the Prophet who decorated the nights with his prayer for us, until his feet became swollen in pain for us.’
O Believers! In this day when we are preparing to greet the Mawlid, we must sit to think, ‘are we in the way of Rasulallah (asws) sincerely? Because the mission of the Holy Prophet (asws), his mission has continued for 1400 years. And he left his mission to those who were coming after him. As our Sheykh, Sahib el-Sayf is mentioning in his sohbet, teaching us, ‘There was a time once when Holy Prophet (asws) was old and tired and he was coming from a war. All his clothes were in dust, he entered into his mesjid and he prayed two rakats. He seemed very tired. He was getting old. Hazrat Fatima (ra) ran to him and said, “Oh my father, when is this suffering that you are going through going to end?”
He said, “Oh Fatima, do you see that sun?”
She said, “Yes, my father.”
He said, “The light of Islam is like that sun. If it’s not entering into every house in this world then my suffering is not going to end.” And he said, “I am not going to live that long but I am going to have inheritors living in this world. They are going to carry this message to different parts of the world and they are going to bring Islam to different houses in this world.’
O Believers. O Murids! We have been blessed to be under the jubba of one of those inheritors. Our Sheykh, Sahib el-Sayf Sheykh Abdul Kerim el-Kibrisi el-Rabbani Hazretleri is one of those inheritors of the Holy Prophet (asws). He is one of the biggest inheritors of the Prophet (asws) in these days who is carrying the Light of Islam to every house in this world. We are the nominees to help him in that mission. We are the nominees to be from those who are helping in the mission of the Rasulallah (asws). The breath of life is given to us right now, that chance is given to us right now. In this Mawlid day, we must ask ourselves: Are we going to be the helpers? Are we going to be from those ones who are helping in the mission of our Sheykh? We can make millions of salawat and organize huge Mawlids, there is no benefit to that if we are not continuing the Mission of Rasulallah (asws) under the flag of one of his Representatives. We have that opportunity. May we not waste it.
And the blessing of being from those who carry the mission of Holy Prophet (asws), it is indescribable. One time, Holy Prophet (asws) was sitting with the Sahaba-e-Kiram when tears filled up his eyes. He was crying, and the Sahaba e-Kiram looked at him and they started to cry. And the asked him, ‘Ya Rasulullah, tell us, may our parents be sacrifided for you. Why are you crying?’
The Prophet (asws) said, ‘I wish I could see my brothers coming toward me to the Pond, the pond of Kawsar, so that I could welcome them with bowls filled with sweet sherbet. Before entering Paradise, I want to offer them from my River of Kawsar.’
And the Sahaba asked, ‘Ya Rasulallah, aren’t we your brothers?’
And he said, Sal’Allahu Alayhi wa Sallam, ‘You are my companions. My brothers are the believers who believe in me without seeing me. Surely, I ask of my Lord to illuminate my eyes with you and the believers who believe without seeing me.’
O Believers! We are in the company of one of the Friends of Allah, the Friend of the Prophet, that Holy Prophet (asws) is crying and wishing to see him. We should hold on fast to him, Our Sheykh, we should never let go- insha’Allah, then, we will be taken with him, this life and the next. Amin.
