Question: Why do we forget the Day of Promises and the first Zikr of Naksibendi? How can we remember those days?
Listen to more Sohbets. Live those Sohbets. Make more Zikr. That time you may remember.
But let me ask you, if you remember, right now, if you remember that Day of Promises, what are you going to do? You are still filled with nonsense things that goes on in your life twenty four hours. Nonsense thoughts, nonsense things in your heart, nonsense words, nonsense activities, and you know this may be the highest knowledge where you were in front of your Lord and you know this, you have that knowledge, what are you going to do?
You are going to go back to your nonsense life again. And that time, you will be punished even more because you are responsible for what you know. You are only responsible for what you know. You are not going to be responsible for what you don’t know. So don’t ask for things that you know you cannot carry. Don’t ask for things. If you remember right now the first Zikr of Naksibendi order, what are you going to do with it? And have you prepared yourself to be able to carry that secret?
So many are illusion and delusion, but we are looking at their lives, it is filled with just nonsense. Filled with nothing but ego and arrogance. It is better for us as murids, don’t remember those days. Don’t ask to remember those days. Ask yourself, ‘I must remember what I ate for breakfast, what I had for dinner last night,’ so many forget. It is better for us to ask ourselves how have we betrayed our Shahadat today? How have we betrayed our Shahadat yesterday? How have we forgotten our Lord and our Prophet and our Sheykh?
If you make that to be your remembrance, you are cleaning yourself. And the more that you clean yourself, the more when the time comes, you will be ready. But the sincere ones, the more he cleanse himself, the more he finds that so many other things to clean. He cleanse it but there are so many others, it’s never ending, that he’s cleaning, cleaning, cleaning always cleaning, cleaning, cleaning that so many women they complain, ‘why am I cleaning, cleaning, cleaning? Everytime I’m cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. Never finishing.’
You are not using your head. You are not using your heart. You are not using your vision coming from your heart. To say, ‘this is as much as I clean and it becomes dirty a few days ago. If this is something, a table, a chair, it collects dirt every few days, and it’s doing nothing, it has no life, what about me? That I’m moving around every time I’m thinking I’m doing things every time, what kind of dirt I’m collecting?’
So be busy with cleaning, and that’s the time when you clean yourself, if they come and they say, ‘now we are going to give you something,’ that’s the time you are going to shake and you say, ‘no thank you. No, thank you.’
InsyaAllah ar-Rahman, we want to remember that and we want to remember our Sheykh. That is enough for us.
