Question: I struggle to wake up for Fajr. How can I be stronger and have more Discipline?
Don’t sleep. Pay someone to have a stick next to you, and if you don’t wake up for Fajr, tell the person to hit you (Hoja laughs). Eh, you struggle to wake up for Fajr, what do you want me to say? If you know tomorrow morning someone is going to give you a Million dollars, you are not going to sleep, you can’t wait for the morning. You think Allah is cheap, hasha astarghfirullah, what He is offering us at Fajr?
This shows your belief. And believe me, if you have real belief you are going to try everything to wake up and you are going to punish yourself if you don’t wake up. You are not going to say, ‘what can I do? I try and I try…’ You are not trying at all. If the dunya offers us, not one million, if somebody says, ‘five o’clock meet me at this place, I’m going to give you a hundred dollars, clean.’
You are going to say, ‘why not?’
That somebody says to you, ‘but you don’t want to sleep?’
‘It’s okay, I can sleep any other day. It’s a hundred bucks. Free!’
You struggle with sheytan. That’s right. Don’t struggle with sheytan. Struggle first with your ego. How are you going to struggle with your ego? You must find a way to struggle it, have the proper skills to do it. That time you’ll be able to. How are you going to have the proper skills to do it if you are not in sohbet? You cannot. If you are not in sohbet, you cannot. You can think and make duas as much as you can, you cannot because those things also come with some support, some prayers.
May it be easy for you, insyaAllah.
