All praises are due to Allah, Lord of the Universes. All praises are due to Allah who is the First, the Last, the Manifest, the Hidden, the One who has Might and Power over all things. And may all peace and blessings be upon the Sultan of the Prophets, the Guide of the Saints, the Intercessor of the Sinners, the Mercy to the Universes, the Beloved of Allah, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammad (asws), and upon his noble family and blessed companions, especially upon the Four Rightly Guided Khalifas, Hz. Abu Bakr el-Siddik, Hz. Umar el-Faruk, Hz. Osman el-Ghani, Hz. Ali el-Murtaza, and all those who follow them until the Last Day.

Ayyuhal Mu’minun. O Believers. Welcome to you on this Holy Day of Jummah, a day that is Holy in the Heavens and it is Holy in the Earth. Welcome to you on this 16th Day of the Month of Rabiul Akhir. The Holy Prophet (asws) is saying in his Hadith Sherif, ‘The best day on which the sun rises is Jummah; on it Adam (as) was created; and on that day of Jummah, he descended on earth; and on Friday his repentance was accepted; and on Friday, he died; and on Friday, the Hour will be established.’

O Believers! In this Day of Jummah, we must sit and take some advice, apply it to our lives, and run to become better servants to our Lord, Allah (swt). O Believers! Our Lord, Allah (swt) is saying to us in the Holy Quran, ‘BismillahirRahmanirRahim. Indeed those who say, “Our Lord is Allah,” and they remain firm, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.’ And Hz. Sufyan bin Abdillah is narrating that he asked Rasulallah (asws), ‘Ya Rasulullah, tell me a statement about Islam which I will not have to ask anyone other than you. The Holy Prophet (asws) said, ‘Say, I believe in Allah and then stand firm and steadfast to that.’ And in another Hadith Sherif, the Holy Prophet (asws) is saying to his Sahaba-e-Kiram, ‘After you there are going to be days of patience. The patience during that time is like the one holding on to hot burning coal. During those days the reward for the one who holds on to the Commands of Allah will be equal to the reward of fifty men who did an action like this.’

O Believers! We must stand straight and be steadfast. We must take the belief that we have in Allah, in His Messenger, and in the Awliyaullah, and stick to that faith no matter what. Because as Holy Prophet (asws) is saying, that faith that we have in these end times, it is like a hot burning coal. And our Sheykh is saying that with that hot coal, sometimes it gets too hot in one hand, so you have to keep shifting it between your hands; but you can never drop it.

Who else lived in a time when carrying the faith was like carrying a hot coal? Who else lived in a time when people called them crazy for their faith? Who else lived in a time when their families, their friends, their countrymen were against them for trying to run to obey the commands of Allah?

The first one who was holding on tightly to his faith no matter what was the Beloved of Allah, Sayyidina Muhammad (asws). Perhaps we may think that we have gone through some difficulty in holding onto our faith- our difficulty is nothing compared to the huge tests that the Holy Prophet (asws) went through. When he began to bring people to Islam, the people of his tribe, the Quraysh, they became so afraid for the power structures that they had built up around themselves. And they saw that the teachings of the Holy Prophet (asws) were a threat to them. So they tried to give him power to make him stop his teachings. They said to him, ‘alright, one year at the Ka’ba we will worship one Allah, and the next year we will worship all the idols. We will make you King. We will give you all the power. We will give you the keys to our treasuries. So that you will become the richest man in Arabia. We will give you the best most beautiful women as your wives. So that you will be the one who is the most connected amongst us. Whatever you want, you can have, just stop teaching this message.’ They sent his Uncle, Abu Talib, to the Holy Prophet (asws) with their offer. What did Rasulallah (asws) say? ‘O my uncle, if they placed the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left hand to abandon this affair, I would not stop until Allah made the truth prevail or I die in the attempt.’

And our Sheykh Hazretleri said: when the Holy Prophet (asws) did that, he took his right hand and place it on the side of his body and said, ‘if they place the sun in my right hand and he took his left hand and placed it on the left side of his body and said, ‘if they place the moon in my left hand,’ the Sahabis actually saw the sun on his right hand and the moon on his left. But he says, ‘I will not stop untill Haqq wins or if I die in this attempt.

And so those kuffar, they began to oppress and torture the Holy Prophet (asws) and his small group of Sahabi. For thirteen years. Thirteen years in Makkah. They used to throw thorns on the path that Holy Prophet (asws) would walk on. They used to throw garbage on his head. When he was praying at the Ka’ba, they dumped camel intestines on top of him. They tortured the Sahaba-e-Kiram to death. But Holy Prophet (asws) and that small group of believers, they never gave up from their faith. Just like Hz. Bilal el-Habashi, that when his slave owner found out he had become Muslim, he tortured him very badly. He used to put him in an iron armor and take him into the burning desert, and put a huge rock on top of his body. And he told him,’just say that you reject Allah and Muhammad (asws) and you worship the idols, and we will end this torture.’ What did Hz. Bilal say?

‘Ahad, Ahmad. Ahad, Ahmad. Ahad, Ahmad.’

And they cut Holy Prophet (asws) and his Sahaba-e-Kiram off from society. They banned anyone to even talk to them, to trade with them, to have any ties with them. Nobody could give them food. And the Holy Prophet (asws) and his Sahaba, they had to live on the outskirts of Makka. And for so many years, they were in complete starvation. And one Sahabi is saying, we were so hungry that if we found a piece of dried leather on the ground we would try to eat it. And one time the Sahaba-e-Kiram, they came to Holy Prophet (asws) to show their condition, they were so hungry they had tied rocks to their stomachs to stop their hunger. And the Sultan of the Universes, he lifted his shirt and showed them he had tied two rocks tied to his blessed stomach. This is real. These are not legend or stories. These are people like you and me. People who bled. People who cried. People who felt. People who ate. People who are hungry. And they had children too, and they had wives and they had husbands. They had mothers and fathers. And they had people that they love who were only looking at them to end their miseries and their suffering if only they were just to turn away from the Holy Prophet (asws). But they didn’t. They sacrificed their children and their parents for the sake of the Prophet.

Today’s 21st century people, we sacrifice nothing. They stayed steadfast and they stood straight. Until finally Allah (swt) opened the way for them to go to Madinah. And in Madinah, the Ansar, the Helpers, they gave everything and opened their doors, gave their food, their money, their families, to help Holy Prophet (asws) and the Muhajireen. But still, the Musyriks pursued them to Madinah to finish them off. But through the orders of Allah swt, they fought to defend Islam.And through the help of Allah, because they were firm and because they were steadfast, and because their faith never shook, Allah (swt) always gave them the victory. Until finally, the Holy Prophet (asws) entered Makkah again and conquered that City, and cleaned the Ka’ba, and raised the flag of Islam. And the believers for almost 1400 years were strong. The believers for almost 1400 years were steadfast. And through that, Allah (swt) always made them victorious.

Our glorious grandfathers, the Devlet-i-Aliyye, the Holy Ottomans, they were strong and they were steadfast. And from one small group led by Osman Gazi, they became the strongest Empire that the world has ever seen.

Believers! we must wake up! We must be steadfast!  and we must be straight. Do not drop the faith for anything. There is a road ahead. That flag of Islam, it is going to be raised again. That flag of Islam, that is kept in a box now. Maybe if we stay in the way of our Sheykh, we may be nominees to help to raise that flag. Not maybe. We are nominees. Because this is the way of the ones who stand straight, who stand up for Truth. As Sahib el-Sayf is saying, ‘My father (Haci Fuat Rabbani qs) always said to me, “My son, always stand straight like a straight wall.” A straight wall will never come down. If you are a little crooked then one day that wall is going to come down. If you are straight then no one is going to bring you down.’

We must stand straight. Because there is a story that still has to be written. There is a destiny that still has to be fulfilled. As they are saying in the Ottoman Mehter song for the Conquest of Istanbul:

This is the story of Fatih;

This is the story of Selim;

This is the story of Suleyman;

This is the Mihrab of Sinanuddin;

This is the minaret of Sinan;

Come, quickly, come and wake up your sleeping legend!

O Murids of Sahib el-Sayf. We must run to be in the way of our Sheykh, so we can be with him to wake up that sleeping legend inside of us. So we can be with him to raise the flag of Islam one more time. Keep your faith strong, stand  straight, and be steadfast; insha’Allah, that time, the Friends of Allah will not turn the dirty ones like us away. And insha’Allah that time, if we do not drop our faith, we will be included in the ayat that Allah (swt) is saying, ‘Indeed those who say, ‘Our Lord is Allah,’ and thereafter are steadfast, the angels descend on them ‘Fear you not! Nor grieve! But receive the Glad Tidings of the Garden (of Bliss), that which you were promised!’ We are your protectors in this life and in the Hereafter: therein shall you have all that your souls shall desire; therein shall you have all that you ask for!’ A beautiful gift from One who is Most Forgiving and Most Merciful.
