All praises are due to Allah, Lord of the Universes. All praises are due to Allah who created the Heavens and the Earth and all that is between them. All praises are due to Allah who has created the sun, the moon, and the stars, and set them in their orbits. All praises are due to Allah who has given honor to the Children of Adam. And all praises are due to Allah who sent the Most Honored One in Divine Presence as the Mercy to the Universes. And may all peace and blessings be upon the Seal of the Prophets, the Imam of the Messengers, the Intercessor of the Ummat, the Lamp of Guidance, the Grandfather of Hasan and Husayn, Sayyidina Muhammad (AS), and upon his noble family and blessed companions, Hz. Abu Bakr elSiddik, Hz. Umar el-Faruk, Hz. Osman el-Ghani, and Hz. Ali el-Murtaza, and all those who follow them until the Last Days.
Ayyuhal Mu’minoon. O Believers.
Welcome to you on this Holy Day of Jummah. Welcome to you on the 23rd day of the Month of Rabiul Akhir. O Believers! In this day of Jummah, run to send more salawat on the Holy Prophet (asws), because he (asws) is saying, ‘Increase your reading of the Salawat during the day of Jummah for this is a Day of Witnessing. It is on this day that the Angels present themselves. Whenever any of you read Salawat upon me, those Salawats are presented to me even before the gathering closes.’ Allahumma Salli Ala Sayyidina Muhammad!
O Believers! We must run in the way of Allah. Allah (swt) is saying in the Holy Quran, “BismillahirRahmanirRahim. To each is a goal to which Allah turns him; then run together towards all that is good. Wherever you are, Allah will bring you together. For Allah has power over all things.’ And in a Hadith Qudsi, Allah (swt) is saying, ‘I am as My servant expects Me to be, and I am with him when he remembers Me. If he thinks of Me, I think of him. If he mentions Me in company, I mention him in an even better company. When he comes closer to Me by a handspan, I come closer to him an arm’s length. If he draws closer to Me by an arm’s length, I draw closer by a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him. If My servant comes to Me walking, I go to him running.’
O Believers! What are we running toward? What are we remembering? What are we thinking about? Are we running toward our Lord, Allah (swt)? Toward Holy Prophet (asws)? Toward their Friends? Or are we running toward our dunya and our selfish lifestyle? Because just as Allah (swt) is mentioning and praising those ones who are running for His Sake, He is also warning us against those who are running away from Allah. He is saying in the Holy Quran, ‘BismillahirRahmanirRahim. Many of them you see, racing each other in sin and enmity, and their eating of things forbidden. Evil indeed are the things that they do.’
O Believers! We must ask ourselves; Are we running toward dunya? Or are we running toward Mawla? In this 21st Century, in these Ahir Zaman times, so many Muslims are fooling themselves to think they are living for Allah, when in fact they are drowning inside the dunya. 21st Century Muslims are saying, look, we are running to gain Ilm, to gain knowledge. We are holding conferences. We are publishing books. We are giving out pamphlets. We are meeting with world leaders. We are going to economic conferences and forums. We are spreading Islam to the east and the west. But Holy Prophet (asws) has already warned us about the tricks and traps sheytan is putting in front of Ahir Zaman Muslims in his Hadith Sherif. Holy Prophet (asws) is saying, ‘Soon a time would come upon people when nothing will remain of the Quran except its script, and nothing of Islam will remain except its name, they will divide and will be farthest from it. Their mosques will be furnished but they will have no guidance. The scholars of that age will be the worst people under the Heavens. Fitnah will emerge from them and return to them.’ And Allah (swt) is saying in the Holy Quran: BismillahirRahmanirRahim. Say (O Muhammad): Shall we tell you the greatest losers in respect of (their) deeds? Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life while they thought that they were acquiring good by their deeds.’
O Believers. We should save ourselves from this fitnah. We should save ourselves from being in this category of the worst people that Holy Prophet (asws) is describing in this Hadith. We should try our best to run in the way of Allah. And the way that we know sincerely that we are running in the way of Allah is to follow the way of Rasulallah (asws). And that comes through following his inheritors.
Alhamdulillah, we are in the sohbet of our Sheykh, Sahib elSayf Sheykh Abdul Kerim el-Kibrisi el-Rabbani, who is one of the Inheritors of the Holy Prophet. And Alhamdulillah, in this area, we have just completed one of the big Sunnats of the Holy Prophet (asws) that is being carried by our Sheykh; we have opened a Dergah, we have opened a Masjid, for the sake of Allah (swt). And this work of opening a place of worship, of opening a place to remember Allah, it is the work of Holy Prophet (asws). As soon as Holy Prophet (asws) entered to Madinah Sharif, the first thing that he did was to build a Masjid. Holy Prophet (asws) is saying in his Hadith Sherif, ‘Whoever builds a house for Allah – whether it is small or big – Allah will build for him a house in Paradise. And Allah (swt) is saying in Surah Tawba, ‘The mosques of Allah shall be visited and maintained by such as believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish regular prayers, and practise regular charity, and fear none (at all) except Allah. It is they who are expected to be on true guidance.
So yes, when Dergahs are opening, houses of Allah are opening. And when Dergahs are opening, places where people can gather and be fed for the sake of Allah are opening. The Holy Prophet (asws) was asked, What aspect of Islam is best?
And he replied (asws), ‘Feeding people and greeting those you know and those you do not know.’ And Allah (swt) is saying in the Holy Quran, ‘ BismillahirRahmanirRahim. The righteous are those who feed the poor, the orphan and the captive for the love of Allah, saying: We feed you for the sake of Allah Alone; we seek from you neither reward nor thanks.’ When Dergahs are opening, houses for the remembrance of Allah are opening. Gardens of Paradise are opening. Because the Holy Prophet (asws) is saying, ‘When you pass by the gardens of Paradise, benefit from them.”
The Companions asked, “What are the gardens of Paradise, O Messenger of Allah?”
He replied, “The circles of zikr. There are roaming angels of Allah who go about looking for the circles of zikr, and when they find them they surround them closely.’
O Believers, If we want safety in the Ahir Zaman, then this is the kind of work that we should run after. We should run after continuing the mission of the Holy Prophet (asws) and his inheritors. We should run to open centers that are bringing people to the love of Allah and His Prophet and their Friends. We should run to do that work that Holy Prophet (asws) is teaching us, is guaranteed in the End of Times. O Believers! This is an age of confusion and fitnah, run toward certainty; run toward pleasing Allah and His Rasool. Run in the way of our Sheykh, Sahib el-Sayf, who is saying, ‘East, West, North, South – there are two billion Muslims. How many from these 2 billion Muslims you think they are living Islam? If you cannot do nothing, just run to those ones. And make them to live, if you think that you live correctly, make them to live Islam the way that you think it is right. If you cannot work on them, if you are in America, this country has 300 million people sinking. Reach to one of them, don’t spend your energy with me because you are going to be losing, definitely, because I know why I am living for. I’m not living for promotion, no one can give me anything, I’m not expecting anything. And I’m not planning to build palaces, I’m not planning to build houses, I’m not planning to build anything, I’m just planning to build my faith and those people that’s around me, they have to follow the same way that I’m doing, otherwise they can go to live their lives. Simple. It’s simple.’
O Believers. Be simple believers that are running to please their Lord. As Holy Prophet (asws) is saying, ‘The believer is simple and noble.’ O Believers, leave the fitnah. Try to be simple believers who are running in the way of Allah, running to please the Prophet, running to serve the Awliyaullah. Insha’Allah, that time, we will be from the winners. Amin.
