Question: When outside the Dergah, how can you continue to live a disciplined lifestyle and step on your ego? How can you keep the struggle?
When you are outside of the Dergah, how you can live a discipline life? When you are outside of the Dergah, keep the discipline and you’ll be able to have the discipline life. That is the time when you have to put your discipline. It’s like saying: ‘when I’m eating healthy, I’m very healthy, how am I supposed to be healthy when I don’t keep this diet?’ Keep the diet, you’ll be healthy.
There is a discipline in the Dergah, as much as you are able to keep it outside of the Dergah, that time, blessings will come to you. As much as you are stepping your ego, that much blessings will come to you. That is the time the blessing is going to come to you. Maybe at the Dergah, it is so easy. Everyone is waking up at the same time, everyone is doing things, because there’s so much Rahmat that is coming too, there is so much support that is coming. The test is, are you able to continue that outside of the Dergah? That is the test. Maybe the test is not in the Dergah.
How you can keep the struggle? Keep the struggle by fighting against to your nafs. This is the whole point of Tarikat, to fight against your nafs. You cannot have something without fighting against to your nafs. That is when there’ll be a break through. We all have been there before. All of us have lived outside of the Dergah before. I’ve lived outside of the Dergah. Yes, I understand. But you know what? the more sincere I try to be, the more simple I try to make my life to be, the more in line it is from the Dergah, easier then that time it is. May it be easy, insyaAllah. This much is enough. SelamAleykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatu.
