All praises are due to Allah, the Lord of the Universes. All praises are due to Allah who is beyond the description of man. All praises are due to Allah who is beyond time and space. All praises are due to Allah who is the First without Beginning and the Last without End. Ya Rabbi, we are unable to praise You. You are as You have praised Yourself. And may all peace and blessings be upon the Sultan of Creation, the Imam of the Messengers, the Leader of the Prophets, the Pride of the Universes, the Intercessor on the Day of Judgment, the Master of the First and the Last, the Grandfather of Hasan and Huseyin, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammad, and upon his noble family and blessed companions, especially upon the Khulafa-e-Rashideen, Hz. Abu Bakr el-Siddiq, Hz. Umar el-Faruq, Hz. Osman el-Ghani, Hz. Ali el-Murtaza, and all those who follow them until the Last Day.
Ya Ayyuhal Mu’minoon! O Believers! Eid el-Adha Mubarek. Kurban Bayramıniz mübarek olsun! May you be blessed, insya’Allah. May you be forgiven, may you be counted amongst those that are in the Pleasure of Allah (swt) in this Holy Day of Eid el-Adha, the day of the Kurban Bayram. On this day, we are calling out to our Lord Allah (swt) in the tradition of our Father Ibrahim (as), Khalilullah, in the tradition of Rasulallah (asws), in the tradition of all those noble and beloved ones to Allah (swt), calling out to our Lord saying: Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar, La ilaha ilAllahu Allahu Akbar. Allahu Akbar wa Lillahil Hamd. Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk. Labbayka la sharika laka labbayk. Innal hamda wa ni’mata laka wal mulk. La sharika lak.
O Believers! Today is a day that is beloved to Allah (swt) and His Holy Prophet (asws). Holy Prophet (asws) is giving us the good news about this day. He gave that good news to his beloved daughter Hz. Fatima al-Zahra, and that news has reached to us through the narration of Hz. Ali (kw). The Holy Prophet (as) said: O Fatimah! Go and witness your Kurban, because the first drop of blood that falls from it causes all your sins to be forgiven. On the Day of Judgment, this animal will be brought with its blood and flesh and will be placed on your scale increasing it seventy times more. Hazrat Abu Saeed (ra) after hearing of the great blessing asked Rasulullah (asws) whether this great favor was only for the family of Rasulullah (asws) because they are more worthy of this good action or is it for the family of Rasulullah (asws) and the entire Muslim Ummat? Rasulullah (asws) replied: It is for both the descendants of the Prophet and the entire Ummah.
Ya Ayyuhal Mu’minoon! O Believers! What is this day? What is the significance of this day? What is the value of this day? The Sahaba-e-Kiram, they asked Holy Prophet (asws) saying, ‘Ya Rasulallah, what is this day of Kurban? And he answered saying, ‘It is the way of your grandfather Ibrahim (as).’ So on this day we have to connect ourselves, we have to remember, we have to live what Hz. Ibrahim (as) and his son Hz. Ismail (as) went through for the sake of Allah swt. When Ibrahim (as) was getting ready to sacrifice his only beloved son Ismail (as), and when Hz. Ismail was preparing himself to be sacrificed for the sake of Allah.
For 1400 years, the Nation of Muhammad, this Ummat, we are remembering that sacrifice. We are continuing the tradition of Ibrahim (as), that even his nation they have forsaken. Because we have been created, this nation, to be witnessed to the other nations and to be witnessed to the Prophet of the other nations. And they were not only remembering it, they were living it. The people who came before us, those giants that held the weight of Islam on their backs for 1400 years so that it could reach to us, they carried the Sunnat of Hz. Ibrahim and Hz. Ismail. The sunnat is not just a sunnat of taking one animal and to cut. This sunnat is what Hz Ibrahim (as) went through as a father, sacrificing his most beloved son, taking that knife, cutting his son’s neck seventy times and that knife did not cut. and he threw it to a rock and the rock split opened. Put yourself in that situation. Look at your sons and look at your daughter and look at your children, O 21st century Muslims and murids who are worshiping to their children, what it means for our grandfather Ibrahim (as) to pull that knife. Then Allah with His mercy, sending that kurban down. They were ready to sacrifice everything that they had in the Way of Allah and His Prophet. They sacrificed their lives. And they were ready to be sacrificed in the Way of Allah and His Prophet. And with that thinking, with that faith, with that passion, they were beloved to Allah and His Prophet, and this world and the next world was open to them.
What about the 21st century Muslims? What about those ones that are calling themselves Nation of Muhammad in the 21st century? What has happened to the Muslims of today? Muslims of today that consider themselves as first class Muslims, Muslims better than the earlier generations, Muslims arrogant and proud but not understanding that they have lost all honor. What has happened? Are they carrying that tradition of sacrificing and being sacrificed? Or have they deviated from that teaching?
Look. Look to see at the ummat. The Ummat-i-Muhammed is suffering today. The ummat is suffering, that they are going to the house of their Lord, that house that has been turned by those sheytan minded people into a new place of worshiping the idols, just as it was in the first jahiliyyah. That place, Mecca and Medina, that they have turned worse than time square, worse than the shopping center. Exactly as the Holy Prophet (asws) is saying, ‘my nation in the ahir zaman, the rich they are going to go to the Hajj for a vacation, time share vacation Hajj. The middle class are going to go there for business, selling and buying, exactly what is happening. You have shopping malls and you have hotels higher and taller than the Ka’aba, and they dare to build and Muslims are going and seeing the Ka’aba at their feet. And the scholars are going there just for a show. And the poor go there to beg.’ May Allah bring down all sheytanic system and restore the true sunnat of the Holy Prophet (asws).
The ummat is suffering today. Although it’s a day of celebration, but the ummat is suffering. The little babies of this Ummah are washing up on the shores of non-Muslims lands as they run away from tyranny and oppression. The rulers inthe Muslims country are the worse tyrannical people, oppressing and massacring their own people innocent people. The scholar are silent. The Sheykhs should speak. And Muslims, they have stopped helping each other. This poison when they see the responsibility of the ummat, it’s on the ummat. Responsibility to the ummat is first and foremost is to those who have power. Those rulers, those scholars, those Sheykhs, where are they? They have stopped helping us.
21st century Muslims have turned back to the ways of Jahiliyya, thinking only of their own nationalistic ideology, only thinking of their own countries, thinking only of their tribe, thinking only of their family, thinking only of themselves. We have become divided into Pakistani, Turkish, Syrian, Indonesian, Egyptian, and all these identities are splitting us up. And nobody is looking to make sacrifices to help each other, or to be sacrificed for each other. And because of this, because of this hubud dunya, because of this fear of death, Allah swt has lifted the support from this Nation. Holy Prophet (asws) is saying in his Hadith Sherif, Allah (swt) only supports the one who supports his Muslim brothers. And as long as the Muslims were living according to that this Nation had the support from the Heavens and had the support from the Earth. They did not have this much wealth that we are having now. They did not have this much resources, this many people in Islam. But they were holding the nation high, they were holding the Prophet and Allah swt high.
Listen to the life of those heroes of Islam who came before us, who sacrificed everything in the Way of Allah. And because of those sacrifices, Allah (swt) gave them a majestic power, and they were made unstoppable.
Hz. Mus’ab ibn Umeyir (ra). Hz. Mus’ab, he was one of the most noble men in Mecca. He came from a rich family. He was very handsome. He was very charismatic. When he met the Holy Prophet (asws), he left everything and he became the Servant of Rasulallah (asws). As the Holy Prophet (asws) is saying: I saw Mus’ab and there was no youth in Mecca more loved by his parents than he. Then he abandoned all that for the love of Allah and His Prophet! His family tortured him, they tried to imprison him, but he did not give up. And finally, he proved his faith, he showed his sacrifice, in the Battle of Uhud. When the rumor started going around that Holy Prophet (asws) had been killed in the battle, some people began to abandon the battlefield. They said, ‘he was our leader, and he has been killed, so why should we continue to fight?’ But Hz. Musab did not give up. That day, he had been given the honor of carrying the flag of Islam. And he came face to face with one of the famous warriors of the Quraysh, and they started to fight. And that unbeliever, he cut Hz. Musab’s right arm off. And Hz. Musab called out, ‘And Muhammad is a Messenger, and Messengers have passed before him.’ And he carried the flag with his left hand. That warrior cut off his left arm, and Hz. Musab said again, ‘And Muhammad is a Messenger, and Messengers have passed before him.’ And he leaned the flag against his chest, repeating, ‘And Muhammad is a Messenger, and Messengers have passed before him.’ Finally, that unbeliever drove a spear through his chest, and the crown of martyrdom was placed on Hz. Musab’s head.
And after the battle, the words that Hz. Musab had been reciting,’And Muhammad is a Messenger, and Messengers have passed before him,’ they were revealed to the Holy Prophet (asws) as verses of the Quran after they had been said by Hz. Musab. When Holy Prophet (asws) saw that Hz. Musab had been martyred, he started to cry. And at that time the revelation came with this ayat, saying: BismillahirRahmanirRahim Among the believers are men who have been true to their promise with Allah (33:23). There was not enough cloth to cover Hz. Musab’s body. If they covered his feet, his head was exposed, and if they covered his head, his feet were open. And the Holy Prophet (asws) said, ‘I saw you in Mecca and there was no jewel more precious or more noble than you, and here you are with a shroud that does not even cover your head.’ And he looked at Hz. Musab and the other Shehids, the Shuhada, and he raised his eyes to the heavens saying, ‘The Prophet of Allah witnesses that you are the Shehids of Allah on the Day of Judgment.” These are the men of sacrifice. These are the men that Allah (swt) and His Holy Prophet (asws), they were pleased with. These are the men through whom this Ummat was honored. And it is because of such man, that this ummat is still standing.
And that spirit, it stayed alive all the way until our Ottoman Grandfathers. The Ottoman Sultans, the Inheritors of Rasulallah (asws), they were living just like the Sahaba-e-Kiram. And they sacrificed themselves for the Holy Prophet (asws). From Sultan Osman Gazi all the way to Sultan Abdul Hamid Han Jennat Makan, the Ottoman Sultans were sacrificing their lives to continue the Way of Rasulallah (asws), to continue the way of the ahle bayt, to continue the way of the EvliyaAllah, to continue the way of the ahle sunnat wal jamaat, they were sacrificing themselves to protect the Muslims and the non-Muslims, and to keep the honor of this Nation high. And all the trouble, all the dishonor, all the disaster came to this Ummat when they abandoned the Khilafat. When the Muslims said we do not want a Sultan, we do not want the Shadow of Allah, we do not want the Representative of the Holy Prophet (asws), then the worst came to this Nation.
Think. Today 500 people they passed. 700 more are injured, who knows what the offical numbers are. And the time when they removed every last vestige that the earlier Sultan has placed in the Haramayn, that they are making big commercial expanding Mecca and Medina, that they are putting visa and putting blockade to Muslims coming to perform the Hajj, in a time that they destroyed everything that they Ummawis and the Abbasis and the Holy Ottomans that they brought and they built for the sake of Allah, that for fourteen hundred years, millions of friends of Allah have touched, have prayed, they moved everything that is of tabbaruk there and they replace sheytanic technology there, and Allah swt make this to happen. Think.
Our Sahib el-Saif Sheykh Abdul Kerim al-Kibrisi al-Rabbani is saying: The Ottoman Sultan was doing his lifestyle according to the ways of the Holy Prophet (asws). And his laws that he was putting it was fitting to that. But the people they have deviated from the ways of Islam and that time because they have deviated from Islam, Allah (swt) has removed Sultan, has removed Khalifa. And since that time, no blessing; cursing raining on the people. And Muslim nations they are still not waking up to say, whatever has happened to us?
This is a mubarak day. This is not the day just to wear new clothes and to eat meat. This is the day to wake up and to understand. This is the day that we are saying, Labayk Allahuma Labayk, we may say that with our tongue but our hearts are saying labayk to the dunya, here I am to the dunya. Here I come. Allah (swt) is saying in the Holy Quran, Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of Allah and what has come down of the truth? (57:16)
O Believers! It is time for us to wake up from Gaflet. It is time for us to wake up from our selfishness, to wake up from our ego and this drunken station of this dunya. In this day of Kurban, in this day of Ibrahim (as) and Ismail (as), we should wake up to understand what it means to sacrifice in the footsteps of our Prophet, not through words, not through fighting, not through violence, but through action. And that action is taught to us through the life of our Sheykh, Sahib el-Saif Sheykh Abdul Kerim el-Kibrisi el-Rabbani. Every action that he did, every word that he said, every breath that he took, he did with the intention of pleasing his Lord. He did not do anything for himself. He did everything for Allah, for Rasulallah, for Sultan el-Evliya. So if we want to see if we are the people of sacrifice, it is not too difficult; we should check how much we are sacrificing ourselves, and the sacrifice that we are making is the sacrifice of our ego. Nothing else. To be in the way of the Rasulullah (asws) is to sacrifice your ego. If we are doing that, we should be happy. If we are not doing that, we must make the intention to become better.
O Believers! This world is in very dark. It’s in very dark days. But we should not lose our hope. The Holy Prophet (asws) is saying, ‘Listen to the good news about the Mahdi! He will rise at the time when people will be faced with severe conflict and the earth will be hit by a violent quake. He will fill the earth with justice and fairness as it was filled with injustice and tyranny. He will fill the hearts of his followers with devotion and he will spread justice everywhere.’ And Seyh Efendi, the reason that he established this Dergah on the top of the Catskills Mountains, the reason why he is establishing Dergah worldwide, is to prepare ourselves for that. Nothing else. You cannot help the work of Mahdi if you yourself are unjust, first to your Lord, then to His Prophet, then to your Sheykh, then to each other. You cannot help in the work of Mahdi (as), if you oppressed.
SahibulSaif is saying, Our business is to concentrate in our zikirs to get more power in our hearts, to be powerful so that when Mehdi (as) appears we will be close to him. Those who are running around, doing nothing, appearing on pictures but are not doing anything about it, they are going to get tired and they are not going to be able to stand next to Mehdi (as) then. So this is what we must do. We must prepare ourselves now when it is the time of peace. The war didn’t begin yet. That spiritual war. So the soldiers that are in the front lines are sitting in their camps, they are preparing their guns, cleaning it and keeping themselves busy. They are not running around because they know that there is a big event coming and they need all that energy then. So they are not going to be running around. Those who are running around are going to stay behind. They are not going to have the energy to be able to stand for what’s coming. Our guns is the zikr. Our ammunition, it is the sohbets, don’t run around trying to change this world. Change yourself and wait for that savior to come that will change the world.
Ya Ayyuhal Mu’minoon! O Believers! O Murids! In a day like this, in this Kurban Day, we must make intention to be sacrificed in the Way of Allah and His Prophet, so that we may reach to be with Seyh Efendi in the days that are coming. Insya’Allah ar-Rahman, if we put that intention, that spirit into our Kurban, we may get the blessings and we may change That time, yes, this Bayram becomes a Bayram Mubarek. Just like Mevlana Jelalelddin Rumi (ks) is saying, ‘Open your eyes and see how I’m so happily taking my soul towards my Beloved. To celebrate the Kurban Bayram, I’m also taking my humble soul to be sacrificed.’
Insha’AllahurRahman, we are asking our Lord to make us amongst those that He is pleased with, to make us from those that are following the tradition of Ibrahim and Ismail (as), and the traditions of the Prophet and the Sahabi e-Kiram to make us from those that are helping and sacrificing for the Ummat-i-Muhammed. Amin.
