All praises are due to Allah, Lord of the Universes. All praises are due to Allah Who is the First, the Last, the Manifest, the Hidden, the One Who has Might and Power over all things. All praises are due to Allah Who sent His Habib, Sayyidina Muhammad (asws), as the Seal of the Prophethood.
And may all peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, the Prophet of Allah, the Beloved of Allah, the Chosen One of Allah, the Most Honored One in Divine Presence, Sayyidina Muhammad (asws), and upon his noble family and blessed companions, especially upon the Khulafa-e-Rashideen, Hz. Abu Bakr el-Siddiq, Hz. Umar el-Faruq, Hz. Osman el-Ghani, and Hz. Ali el-Murtaza, and all those who follow them until the Last Day.
Ya Ayyuhal Mu’minoon! O Believers! Welcome to you on this Day of Jummah. Welcome to you on the Last Jummah of the Holy Month of Rabiul Awwal. Insha’Allah in a few days we will enter into the Month of Rabiul Ahir. We are asking our Lord, Allah (swt), to count us amongst those who showed the respect to the Month of the Birth of the Holy Prophet (asws). When so many are running to condemn the Mawlid al-Nabi, we are asking Allah (swt) to count us amongst those ones who were making Shukur and praising Him for sending us the Mercy to the Universes. Hz. Maruf Karkhi (ks), who is the Grandsheykh of Hz. Junaid el-Baghdadi (ks), is saying, ‘Whoever shows respect for the Prophet’s birthday (asws) Allah will raise him on the Judgment Day together with the Prophets, peace be upon them, and grant him the highest levels of Paradise.’ Insha’Allah, we are asking to be counted amongst such a group, and to be raised in the company of our Sheykh. He is enough for us.
O Believers! Allah (swt) is saying in the Holy Quran: BismillahirRahmanirRahim. The blame is only against the ones who wrong the people and tyrannize upon the earth without right. Those will have a painful punishment. (42:42).
And Allah (swt) has said in a Hadith Qudsi: BismillahirrahmanirRahim. O My servants, I have forbidden oppression for Myself and have made it forbidden amongst you, so do not oppress one another.
And in another Hadith Qudsi, He is saying (swt): I shall take revenge on the oppressor in this world and the next. I shall take revenge on someone who saw the person being oppressed and was able to help him but did not. And Holy Prophet (asws) is saying: ‘The Hour will come when leaders are oppressors.’
Why are we reading these Hadith? Because despite the fact that we live in America, despite the fact that when we open the television it is showing us pictures of smiling people with happy lives, despite the fact that in our own small lives we are living peaceful lives, this world is full of oppression and tyranny. And this oppression and tyranny, it is hated by Allah and His Prophet and their Friends. So many people in this world, they don’t want to look at this oppression. They don’t want to look at this cruelty. They are saying,’I didn’t do it. I’m not hurting anybody. I’m not killing anybody. It’s not my problem.’ It is our problem. Because Holy Prophet (asws) is saying, ‘When the Day of Judgment rises an announcer announces: Where are the tyrants and their helpers, even those who even filled just an ink-pot for the unjust ruler or sew his purse or sharpened a pencil for the oppressors? Gather them along with the tyrants.’
What is the meaning of this Hadith? If we are part of the tyranny, if we are helping tyranny, if we have tyranny inside of ourselves, if we are showing tyranny to others, then we are going to be raised with the tyrants on the Day of Judgment. We will be considered the tyrants on the Day of Judgment. And Allah (swt) is saying in the Hadith Qudsi that He will take Revenge against tyrants and their helpers on the Judgment Day. May we be protected against the Revenge of Allah.
Look at the world and we will see the big, open tyranny that is happening. Look at what came into the open this week, of the people who are living in the City of Madaya, in the land of Shaam, in Syria. The people are starving to death. The children are boiling grass and leaves to eat, and now even the grass and leaves they are finished. Yes, that is tyranny, and Allah (swt) will take Revenge on their behalf. That is the big, open tyranny. But what about the tyranny that we are doing? What about the ways that we are helping that oppression? We must look at ourselves sincerely- aren’t we being disobedient to our Lord? To our Rasul? To our Sheykh? That is tyranny. Aren’t we being tyrant not just to our own selves, but to our brothers and sisters in the Jamaat? To our families? Just because we don’t have power, our tyranny and its effects they are not reaching wide. But have no doubt that if power was given to us, we would be worse than any of the tyrants that have walked the earth.
Our Sheykh, Sahib el-Sayf, he is teaching us and explaining to us, saying: We are saying now to people on the face of the earth, `You are tyrants.’ They are raising their heads right away. Allah is saying that you are tyrants, that we are tyrants. Why are you upset? The anger is proving that you are a tyrant. The anger is proving that you are still on the top level of tyranny. You didn’t come down, didn’t step down. If Allah (swt) is calling Adam (as) and Hawa tyrants, what about you? If you are not a tyrant then you are going back to Paradise. If you are not a tyrant then the Paradise door is open to you in Dunya. If you are not a tyrant then you are smelling the Paradise. So what about tyranny Allah (swt) is saying, `I don’t love the tyrants.’ The ones that Allah doesn’t love, that one is a Kafir. Every tyrant is a Kafir. Every Kafir is not a tyrant. There is a chance for that one that he will find safety. But the tyrants, until they ask for forgiveness and they will be sincere with their asking, forgiveness will not be given to them.
So many people came to earth and those who became tyrant, they passed, they finished their tyranny and they went to their paradises. So many came, continued with their tyranny, they carried the loads of this world, they suffered above the ground and now they are suffering under the ground. The angel of death is going to reach to you. It’s going to reach to me. Today you are above the ground. You can go anywhere you want, you can say anything you want, you can do anything you want. As much permission is given to you, that much you are going to run and you are going to do. But Allah (swt) is saying, ‘I will not let tyrants to go. I will release my rope on them for some time. But My Hand will reach to them one day.’
If we have a drop of faith, then this should make us very fearful of our Lord. This should make us fearful of the way that we are living our lives. And it must make us ask the question, ‘what can I do to change so that I am not counted as a Zalim, so that I am not counted amongst those who are helping the tyrants.’ And our Sheykh is teaching us, that when we have that tyranny, we must run back to our Lord. We must run back to submit and be obedient. We must say, like the Prophet Yunus (as) said in the belly of the fish,’La ilaha illa Anta Subhanaka Inni Kuntu Min az-Zalimeen (There is no Lord but you, You are the Subhan, and I have been from the Tyrants).
And our Sheykh, he is inheritor of Rasulallah (asws), and so he is inheriting the quality of being Basheer and Nazeer, of giving the good news and also warning. And our Sheykh is giving us the good news of what happens if we turn from tyranny. He is saying: Anyone who has tyranny in their hearts someway somehow (to any one of us, to any one of them or to someone at all) they should prepare themselves for that punishment. Turn yourself saying, “Ya Rabbi! I am asking help and support from You against this tyranny that is inside of me. Clean me from that.” Then you will be counted in the book as ‘The people of Mehdi (as)’ and you will be among those that the Holy Prophet (asws) praised and he is giving Salams saying to his Sahaba, “I cannot wait to meet my brothers in the Judgment Day.” They said, “Ya Rasulullah, aren’t we your brothers?” He said, “No, you are my companions. My brothers are those who are going to come in the Ahir Zaman. Everywhere everything is going to be for their ego but they are going to leave that way and they are going to run, they are going to hold on tightly to my traditions. Those are my brothers.” And he said to them, “I am giving them salams in front of you.” Holy Prophet (asws) is sending salam to us, whoever is coming until the end of times.
Ya ayyuhal Mu’minoon! Our hearts are breaking. Our hearts are breaking because we see the cruelty in this world. Our hearts are breaking because since the Ottoman Sultans left the Throne, Justice has also left the world. Because the Ottomans spread justice to every corner of their empire, even to the ants. But never forget that Allah (swt) is saying, ‘Inna ma’al usri yusra- Verily with hardship comes ease.’ And Holy Prophet (asws) has already told us what is going to happen.
Don’t forget this. Don’t forget why we are here. Seyh Efendi is saying: Those who have knowledge are not interfering to what’s happening in the world today because Holy Prophet (asws) is addressing us saying, “That time is going to enter. After me Khulafa-e Rashideen, the Rashid Khalifahs, the rightly guided khalifahs will come. After them the kings will come.” The Umawi and Abbasi kingdoms came. “After them the Sultans will come.” The Ottoman Sultans came. “After the Sultans the Jababirah will rule for one century. The tyrants will come.” Holy Prophet (asws) is addressing us saying, “When that time enters, Allah (swt) will give the ruling system of the world in the hands of the unbelievers. Don’t run so much to change it because you are not going to have the power to change it. On the outside appearances, it is going to be ruled in the hands of the unbelievers. They are going to rule. The Khalifah is going to be hidden and they are going to do all kinds of wrong activities in this world.” And he is saying, “Wait until one of my descendants (which is Mahdi as) appears because before his appearance no one is going to be able to change anything.” The Awliya Allah have the power in their hands, Allah gave them the power to change things but they have proper manners. They are not interfering in anything. They pulled themselves out because all the hadith of the Holy Prophet (asws) it must come to life. And that’s what’s happening.
Be busy with preparing for Mehdi (as). And that preparation, it is not a war preparation. It is not a physical, military preparation. That preparation is a spiritual preparation. It is a war against to our ego. If we are fighting with our ego to become obedient now, if we are fighting against to our ego now, we are preparing. If we are not fighting against to our ego now, we are not preparing. Big possibility we will be fooled in that confusion. Big possiblity we will be with dajjal. If we are fighting with our ego to have submission, we are preparing. If we are fighting with our ego, to listen to our Sheykh when he says white is black and black is white, then we are preparing. And that time, we have separated ourselves from the Zalims, and we have turned ourselves to the side of Mehdi (as). And insha’Allah, if we are on the side of Mehdi (as), we are going to be amongst the helpers of the oppressed ones. And insha’Allah that time, we will reach to safety.
On this last Jummah of Rabiul Awwal, we are asking our Lord, Allah (swt), to not count us amongst tyrants. We are asking Ya Rabbi to forgive us. We are asking Him to turn our hearts back to Him, to His Habib, to our Sheykh. We are asking to be counted on the side of our Sheykh in this life and next life, and to be counted as those ones who are preparing for Mehdi (as), and to be counted as the ones who are helping the oppressed. We are asking for all tyranny to be removed from our hearts. Amin.
