All praises are due to Allah, Lord of the Universes. All praises are due to Allah, Who is the First, the Last, the Manifest, the Hidden, the One who has Might and Power over all things. We are praising Him with His Words, saying: Praise be to Allah, who has guided us to this; never could we have found guidance, had it not been for the guidance of Allah: indeed it was the Truth, that the Messengers of our Lord brought unto us. (7:43).
And may all peace and blessings be upon the Final Messenger, Sayyidina Muhammad (AS). O Allah! Bestow blessings on our master Muhammad whose light was created first, and whose appearance is a mercy for all the worlds, as many times as the number of Your creations past and yet to come among those that are blessed and those that are unfortunate; such blessings that are unlimited and unbounded, countless, endless, never finishing; such blessings that are permanent by virtue of Your permanence, and on his family and companions, and in the same manner complete salutations as well. (Salawat of Ghawth al-Azam). And may all peace and blessings be upon the Khulafa-e-Rashideen, Hz. Abu Bakr el-Siddiq, Hz. Umar el-Faruq, Hz. Osman el-Ghani, Hz. Ali el-Murtaza, and all those who follow them until the Last Day.
O Believers! Welcome to you! Welcome to you on this Holy Day of Jummah, in the Month of Rabiul Thani. Welcome to you as we are passing through the Holy Urs Days of Ghawth al-Azam Sheykh Abdul Qadir Gilani (ks) and of Hz. Muhiyuddin Ibn Arabi (ks). May their blessings reach to us in these days.
O Believers! Allah (swt) is saying in the Quran e-Kerim: BismillahirRahmanirRahim. O you who believe! Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and your Rightly Guided Leaders. (4:59). And Holy Prophet (asws) is saying in his Hadith Sherif: The Sultan is the Shadow of Allah upon the earth; the weak seek refuge with him and by him the oppressed are given victory. Whoever honors a Sultan of Allah in the world Allah honors him in the Day of Judgment.
Ayyuhal Mu’minoon! O Believers! We are living through the darkest days on the face of the Earth. We are living through days that every Prophet, from Adam (as) to Sayyidina Rasulallah (asws) warned their people about. What is the reason? Because there is no ruler on the face of the Earth. Understand the difference between today and every single other period of history. The Holy Prophet (asws) is saying: The tribes of Isra’il were ruled by the Prophets, every time a Prophet passed he was followed by another Prophet, and there will be no Prophets after me, and there will be Khulafa (successors) and they will be many.” The Sahabis then asked “What do you order us, ya Rasulullah?” To which the Prophet replied “Fulfill your Beyat to them one after another, and give them their rights, and truly Allah will ask them about their responsibilities.”
We need an understanding of history. Holy Prophet (asws) is showing in this Hadith that mankind has always been sent a ruler from Allah (swt). Except for this Ahir of Ahir Zaman we are living in. But Muslims of the 21st century, they have no idea of the situation we are in. Heedless and headless. Because we have no concept of history. Our Sheykh, Sahib el-Sayf Sheykh Abdul Kerim el-Kibrisi el-Rabbani (ks), who is a Voice of Truth in the darkness of the end times, is saying, ‘The one biggest mistake that the Muslim people today have is that that they don’t know the history. First, you have to check the history. Open the pages back a little bit. Turn it back. Look where the trouble started and since then if the trouble stopped.’
If we do not understand our history, then we will not understand how terrible these days are. And for us to understand the darkness of this Ahir Zaman, we need to understand what came before. We have to know our history. We have to know what the Khilafat was, what the Sultanate was, and what we lost when it was removed. And the enemies of Islam, from inside and outside, they have brainwashed us into thinking that the Khilafat, it was a despotic, tyrannical system. And because we have been cut off from our language, from our lineage, from our history, we have believed this lie. But nothing could be further from the Truth.
The Khilafat is the most perfect, the most Just, the most peaceful system of governance that has ever been sent to the face of the Earth. So many skeptics will say upon hearing this system,’you are exaggerating. You are whitewashing history.’ But look at the history. What was the mission of Holy Prophet (asws)? To establish a society based on Justice and to build a civilization based upon the Divine Law. And he came to take people out of darkness and into light. As Hz. Jafar al-Tayyar explained to the Najashi, the Emperor of Abysinnia, when they emigrated to Abysinnia, ‘O King! We used to be a community that was ignorant and a toy for sheytan, we used to worship idols and eat the flesh of the dead! We used to engage in all kinds of evil deeds, we did not care about family ties or neighborly rights. Whoever was strong among us would oppress the weak. Then Allah sent a Prophet from among us whose family we all knew very well, and whose truthfulness and trustworthiness was already praised among us. He invited us to know Allah as the Unique One of Absolute Unity, not to worship anyone but Him, and to leave our ancestral habit of worshipping idols that we had made with our own hands from stones and clay. He also invited us to speak the truth, to keep our promises, to strengthen the ties between relatives by visiting each other, to have good and warm relations with our neighbors.’
And this did not end after the Holy Prophet (asws). Under the ruling of Hz. Abu Bakr, Hz. Umar, Hz. Osman, Hz. Ali, Islam continued to spread from East to West, into the empires of Persia and Byzantium. And wherever Islam spread, it took away ignorance and oppression. And the justice of Islam was extended not only to Muslims, but to the non-Muslims as well. Hz. Umar al-Faruq (ra) said before he passed away,’I charge the Khalifa after me to be kind to the non-Muslim citizens, to keep their covenant, to protect them and not to burden them over their strength.’
And wherever Islam ruled, there was peace. This continued not just during the time of the Khulafa-e-Rashideen, but also during the times of the Ummayads and the Abbasids. And the Justice and Peace of Islam found its pinnacle during the reign of the Devlet-i-Aliyye, the Holy Ottoman Empire. During their height, the Ottomans ruled over a landmass of more than 2 million square miles, with more than 35 million citizens. The Ottoman Empire was the most ethnically diverse empire in history, with not only Turks and Arabs, but Greeks, Persians, Kurds, Slavs, Africans, Bosnians, Macedonians, Circassians, Laz, Armenians, and Jews, to name just a few. And for more than 700 years, within the borders of the Empire, the Ottomans maintained peace and justice. So much so that historians have titled the period of Ottoman rule as “Pax Ottomana,” the Ottoman Peace. How did they maintain peace and justice over so much land and over so many people? By following in the footsteps of the Holy Prophet (asws) and by showing respect and deference to the Friends of Allah.
Sultan Osman Gazi, the Founder of the Ottoman Empire, gave an advice to his son, Sultan Orhan, saying, ‘My Son! Be careful about the religious issues before all other duties. The religious precepts build a strong state. Do not give religious duties to careless, faithless and sinful men or to dissipated, indifferent or inexperienced people. And also do not leave the state administrations to such people. Because the one without fear of Allah the Creator, has no fear of the created. Take lesson from me so I came to these places as a weak leader and I reached to the help of Allah although I did not deserve. You follow my way and protect Din-i-Muhammadi and the believers and also your followers. Respect the right of Allah and His servants. Do not hesitate to advise your successors in this way. Depend on Allah’s help in the esteem of justice and fairness, to remove the cruelty, attempts in every duty.’
And this spirit of serving the Holy Prophet (asws), of following the Evliyaullah, of protecting the Din-i-Muhammedi, it continued all the way until the Last Sultan, Sultan Abdul Hamid Han Jannat Makan. When the Empire was being attacked from every side and was in its weakened position, he was offered millions of pounds to sell the land of Quds. What was his reply? He said, ‘Even if you gave me as much gold as the entire world, let alone the 150 million English pounds in gold, I would not accept this at all. I have served the Islamic Nation and the Ummah of Muhammad for more than thirty years, and never did I blacken the pages of the Muslims- my fathers and ancestors, the Ottoman sultans and caliphs. And so I will never accept what you ask of me.’
And seeing the signs that had manifested, Sultan Abdulhamid Han ultimately stepped aside. And what has happened since that day? What has happened since the day that the Shadow of Allah stepped away from the throne? There has been non-stop bloodshed, suffering, cruelty, and war. Not just in one part of the world, but in every single corner of the world. Pick any place in the globe. When the Khilafat was taken away, peace was taken away.
O Believers! That is what we lost. That is what we lost when we lost the Khilafat. And it is not just Muslims who lost. It is the whole world that lost. When the Khilafat was removed, all of the Children of Adam lost their honor and lost their humanity. But so many Muslims of the 21st century, they are delighting in the fact that there is no Khalifa. Because when the Khalifa left, every heresy, every heterodoxy, every evil idea came alive. Muslims today are saying, ‘ah, there is no Khalifa, so we can have Khariji Islam, we can have ISIS Islam, we can have feminist Islam, we can have Quran-only Islam, we can have gay Islam, we can do whatever we want. Because the floodgates of sheytan have been opened. And the enemies of Islam, because there is no Khalifa, they are doing every evil and tyrannical action.’
Now is the time of the Ahir Zaman. And now is the time that we need to answer the question: Do we want the Khilafat or we don’t want the Khilafat? Not the fake khilafat of ISIS or of these other khariji wahabi sheytans, no. We have to ask ourselves, the whole Ummat has to ask: do we want the Ottomans to return? Do we want the Sultans to return? Do we want the Khalifa to return? Whoever does not, he is in a very dangerous position. Whoever is asking and praying and begging for the return of the Khalifa, definitely he is on the side of Mehdi (as). And whoever is keeping that hope alive in their heart, do not worry: the Ottomans will return. This is the Promise of Allah, the Promise of Habibullah, the Promise of our Mashaikh. And it is not enough to hope and pray either. The Sahaba-e-Kiram, they did not just hope and pray for Islam to be established. They changed themselves. They changed the society. They sacrificed. If we are sincere, then we need to be part of that work. And the only way to be part of that work, is to be connected to the inheritors of the Ottomans, who are paving the way for Mehdi (as).
O Believers! O Murids! Keep that faith and work alive in your hearts. We must live according to the spirit that our Sheykh, the Ottoman of this Time, is teaching us, saying: We are Osmanli, we are pek sanli, we are Ottomans and we are very honored. Allah has honored us with that. So many dropped it today. So many are attacking the Ottomans also. They can attack in any way. It doesn’t matter. Allah keeps them high and they are high. And we are very honored holding them high and we are going to hold them high. We are not good for anything. We know that. What they did, it is impossible for us to do. But at least we say, “Ya Rabbi! We love them. We love what they did because they did it for Your sake and for Your Prophet’s sake.” O Believers! We should give more respect and more love to the Ottomans. That time, insha’AllahurRahman, we will catch the prayer of our Grandsheykh, Sultan el-Evliya Sheykh Mevlana Muhammad Nazim Adil el-Hakkani (ks) who is making dua, saying: May Allah (swt) show us the good days, may He show us Sayyidina Mahdi. May you see Hz Isa also and may you find honour in their service and honouring. My children, my grandchildren, the young ones of the Nation of Muhammad (asws) will inshaAllah ar-Rahman ride horses under the flag of Islam. We don’t want any cannon or planes. The majestic voice of our Takbir will shake the world! It is coming, Islam is coming! Shaytan’s sultanate will be destroyed and the Sultan that Ar-Rahman appointed will rule this world. We believe and we hope that we can be with them too. Amin, Amin, Amin.
