Medet Ya Sheykh Abd Kerim el-Kibrisi el-Rabbani, Medet. We are asking permission and support from him to say some words, that maybe your heart is going to become alive and to have passion again. The hearts that are alive, same words we speak, he’s going to find something in there. Same sohbets that we give, this week after week, month after month, year after year, even if we are giving the same one every day, the heart is connected and they are awake, it’s going to find something there. Don’t we say, ‘La ilaha ilallah’ thousands of times, maybe millions of times? Don’t we say Allah? We are saying the same thing over and over again. But if all the oceans they are ink and all the trees they are pens, you cannot exhaust the meaning of that. Because everything is coming to that. But for the hearts that are dead, forty prophets can come to speak to you, you still think it’s nothing. Not moving, not making progress, not alive, not thinking, not reflecting, not putting two and two together. No curiosity. No observation. But we can change the sohbet just like that to talk about this dunya and ooh, you can go on and on and on.
Anyway, Alhamdulillah, we are feeling step by step what Sheykh Effendi is going through. And we will give something, insya’Allah to those who are looking. Maybe they are here, maybe they are not here.
Today is the Urs of Sheykh Effendi. What did we feel today? What happened today? Say, what happened today? Say to me that today was the same as yesterday. That’s right, same as last week, same as last year. But three years ago, something happened on this date, hijri date that change our lives, that we are saying, our lives can never go back to the same again. How many are taking some time to sit down and to think that? Their passion, what is the passion? Emotion, yes there is. The passion is taking the emotion and to produce something. That is what the passion is doing. So what we are producing? Three years ago, something happened. Everyone get very emotional, including me. What has happened now, to this year? What is it that we are thinking and understanding and saying what happened this year was different from what happened last year. What happened last year was different from the year before, that three hijri years have passed and this is what we have achieved, as much as we can with our Sheykh’s himmet. Or today is just like yesterday, and tomorrow is just like today? As believers, as murids, if we are doing that, we are going completely against to the hadiths of the Prophet (asws).
The believers today has to be better than yesterday and tomorrow must be better than today. So what are we busy with these days? What are we busy with in these times? Murids, I’m speaking to. Some, they are busy just running and doing things without thinking. Working without thinking. Working without connection. Working without a worship. If you find that your heart is moving more with passion towards the work than to the worship and the zikr and the sohbet, something is wrong. We are not here for the dunya work. We are here to worship. You are not finding it sometimes, it’s okay. Ups and downs, it’s alright. But you will know by yourself if it’s becoming a habit, it’s becoming a ritual. Then it becomes normal. Then you know your heart, where it is.
We are here to worship. We are here to have passion for worshipping. And passion for worshipping is not just making a zikr and praying, which, say you have a passion, say you are looking forward to zikir, ‘I can’t wait for zikr.’ Say, ‘I can’t wait to pray.’ Say, ‘I can’t wait to listen to sohbet.’ Becoming ritual and empty. We should watch ourselves so that we don’t fall into this kind of ghaflat. Because the end to that is not too good. We have seen so many who has fallen into the same trap. This is for me, this is for you. If we are not taking the signs of Allah and looking and studying them and looking at ourselves, that time, don’t expect too much understanding of faith or satisfaction is going to reach to your heart. Your heart is going to find satisfaction everywhere, it’s still not going to be there. We are here to understand ourselves.
You tell me, who here is saying, ‘I understand myself enough. I don’t have to listen to a sohbet.’ We are here to understand ourselves. If you are not going to understand yourself through a sobhet what Sheykh Effendi is sending right now, not what he has said before, not what he has said last year, what he is sending right now. Don’t look to me. I may go. I will go. Someone else is going to be here to speak. When Sheykh Effendi is not going anywhere, and his representative is not going anywhere, so, look and fix yourself. This is for me and for you. If you are not ready, you are not ready. When the time comes, there’ll be others who are ready and you are going to regret a lot. I’m going to regret a lot. So wake up. Don’t fall asleep. Wake up. Wamin Allahu taufiq. Al-Fatiha.
