Question: Is it permissible to be a loner or hermit if my community has no other followers of Sheykh Effendi?
BismillahirRahmanirRahim. Well do what is farz for you. The Jumma it is a farz, you cannot stay away from that. It is not going to be good for you, it is not permissible. But anything else that is not farz it is up to you. You make your own decision. You are going to be with people that are going to remind you of what you love most. Why be with people who are going to hate what you love? If you are with people who hate what you love, if you think this is good training for you, for you to understand, it is good for a time but if it is starting to destroy your connection to the one that you love and to the things that you love, if it is going to make you to become, your heart to become very restless and angry, stay away. Stay away.
To be a loner, huh, why do you think we pulled all the way up to the top of the mountain? To be with thousands of people? We are here to be alone too, because the believers in the Ahir Zaman they are very gharib. So it is ok, your Lord is with you, your Prophet is with you, your Sheykh is with you. Be with them. Important thing is be with them. To be with them you must find out a way to be with them through the heart because that is the most important connection. If you’re connected with them through the heart and you are starting to understand and to run to do things for the sake of Allah and run to serve, that time the connection is already there. It doesn’t matter if you are here or not here, you’re doing work for the sake of Allah already. If you are just longing to be there physically let me tell you those who are just longing to be here physically but we say what are you doing? Have you prepared yourself? What can you run? What can you? da,da,da,da. They are going to feel very good for a while, then something is going to happen, because it’s not too much strong connection, then we may just say one thing or push one button and you’re going to run to the other side of the world.
This is a Dergah also, we are not here for honeymoon. This is not a retreat, you understand? Retreat is honeymoon right? A break from this world and you break and you come and you relax. This is a training center, not an ‘ultra militaristic training center,’ this is a training center for your ego. Yes you come here to retreat from the world, your spirit can be more free here it doesn’t have to be so tight as it is in this world. You’re coming here the spirit is free but the ego, you are going to keep it under lock and key for a little bit and after a while you will learn how to ride your ego. That time when you learn how to ride your ego you’ll start to see and understand things that you’ve never seen or understood before. May it be easy insha’Allah. SelamAleykum.
