Question: How do I use this Dunya as a means to fulfill my reason for creation and worship to Allah?
BismillahirRahmanirRahim. Very simple, live according to the way that the Prophets they lived. Live according the way the Sahabi e-Kiram saw how the Prophet lived. Live according to those ones who follow them. Live according to the AwliyaAllah, live according to them how they treat this world. Follow them then that time you will be in the world, you may use the world, but you are using this world for the Akhira. You are not in the world and falling in love with the world and getting lost with the world having a love of this world.
To use the world for Allah’s sake, to use this world for the love of Allah is different. To fall in love with this world it is different. Those ones who are using this world for the sake of Allah they don’t have this world in their heart. They have Allah but they have the world in their hands. You can see that their hearts they don’t move when they win this world and when they lose this world, it’s not moving. Their hearts are moving if they do something wrong that it is not pleasing to their Lord. That time they are feeling very anxious. There are those who are in this world and they are collecting from this world but their reason for that is for the sake of Allah and when they follow that good intention, one hand takes and the other hand gives. Just like a Mevlidi that is whirling. Continually it is coming, continually he is giving. Thats why the Zakat it is a very important part of our faith. Zakat it is to remind us that whatever we have that is given to us it is not because we work that it’s given to us. It is because Allah is being Karem that He is giving to us. Millions of people they work but they don’t get anything. There are so many also who don’t work and they get everything. So when do you think that you are working and because you work you get something, now even if you work hard and you get something that it is in your hand to know it doesn’t belong to you, you have to let it go. Meaning what? Whatever that you have there whatever that is in your hand the rights of the Yatims, of the Orphans is in there. The rights of the poor people they are there, the rights of those ones whose being oppressed it is there. It doesn’t belong to you. It comes with heavy responsibility now.
You are not to run after this world and to collect it. When you have that, that feeling that you are not connected to this world, that time they may give you everything and it is going to be under your feet and you are not going to worry so much. You don’t know what to do, find someone, follow him. But find someone and follow and make sure that one is not asking you any fee. If you find someone and you follow and someone, that one is asking you, ‘you know every month you have to pay this much, we are an organization you know, spiritual we are but organization you have to give,’ that time run away. That is an order, ‘Follow those who ask you no fee.’ But you are someone who has something and you are looking around to see people who don’t have too many and its moving to your heart to give and you say, ‘I need some advice who to give where to give,’ you may go to those ones who are holding on tight to the sunnah of the Rasulullah (asws), and they are not asking you anything, we say go. Like Sheykh Mawalana, one person came with hundreds of thousands of dollars, another person came saying we need some money, he took everything and he give. Like Sheykh Effendi, people giving him, everything at his feet and he’s saying thinking this is coming with so many attachments he says, ‘no need.’ Some trying to make show to be generous he’s saying, ‘Alhamdulillah, Mashallah. Take this money and build a toilet.’ Some promising so much like some people trying to impress us and promise us so much and saying, ‘we can do this for you, you know we can do that, we can put someone in very high positions somewhere its going to be very high position.’ We say Eyvallah but we are not impressed by that kind of words too.
What are we impressed by? People who are sincere, people who have manners, people who are simple. That time the one dollar they give comes with more Rahmat and Barakat than the thousands of dollars that someone is just throwing here for nothing, for a show. May it be easy for you and me inshallah may Allah forgive me and bless you. This much is enough, Wa MinAllahu Tawfiq, Al Fatiha.
