All praises are due to Allah (swt), Lord of the Universes. All praises are due to Allah Who has who created death and life to test which of you is best in deed – and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving. All praises are due to Allah Who sent His Habib, Sayyidina Muhammad (asws), as a Light to Creation and the Mercy to the Universes.

And may all peace and blessings be upon the Sultan of the Worlds, the Imam of the Messengers, the Seal of the Prophethood, the Lamp of Guidance, the Intercessor of the Day of Judgment, Sayyidina Muhammad (asws), and upon his noble family and blessed companions, especially upon the Four Khulafa-e-Rashideen, Hz. Abu Bakr el-Siddiq, Hz. Umar el-Faruq, Hz. Osman el-Ghani, and Hz. Ali el-Murtaza, and all those who follow them until the Last Day.

jummah khutbah Hoja

Ya Ayyuhal Mu’minoon! O Believers! Welcome to you on the Last Jummah of the Month of Jumadiul Akhir. Welcome to you as we are just about to enter into the Holy Month of Rajab, Shahrullah. O Believers! What is Rajab? Rajab, as Holy Prophet (asws) is saying, is the Month of Allah. Rajab is the month that contains two of the Holiest Nights in Islam, the Night of Raghaib, and the Night of Miraj. And Holy Prophet (asws) is describing the special nature of this Month in his Hadith Sherif, saying: The month of Rajab is a glorious month indeed. If someone has fasted for one day in Rajab, Allah (swt) will record it as the fast of a thousand years. If someone has fasted for two days in Rajab, Allah (swt) will record it as the fast of two thousand years. If someone has fasted for three days in Rajab, Allah (swt) will record it as the fast of three thousand years. If someone has fasted for seven days in Rajab, all the seven gates of Hell (Jahannam) will be locked to make sure that he stays out of it. If someone has fasted for eight days in Rajab, all the eight gates of the Garden of Paradise will be held open for him, so that he may enter by whichever gate he chooses. If someone has fasted for fifteen days in Rajab, all his bad deeds will be replaced by good deeds, and a crier will call out from heaven above: “Allah has now forgiven you, so use the opportunity to set about good work clean and pure!”

And Sultan el-Evliya Sheykh Maulana Muhammad Adil al-Hakkani is speaking about Rajab saying, ‘This month is Rajab Shahrullah. It is a magnificent month. It is carrying the name of Allah (swt) – Rajab Shahrullah. And that is why, O Believers, O Muslims, O Sincere Ones, Be careful, praise and glorify Allah this month. This is the month for Allah (swt). Shahrullah.’

O Believers! Let us make intention together in this last Jummah of Jumadiul Akhir to prepare and welcome Rajab Shahrullah with Edep and respect, and to enter to the Three Holy Months with the intention to become better servants to our Lord, to our Prophet, to our Sheykh. Amin insya’Allah.

Ya Ayyuhal Mu’minoon! We have just passed through the day that we are commemorating one of the greatest Men of Allah (swt) who ever lived on the earth. We are passing through the day when we are remembering the Second of the Two in the Cave. We are passing through the day when we are remembering the beloved Friend of the beloved friend of Allah swt. We are passing through the day that we are remembering Hz. Abu Bakr el-Siddiq (ra). O Believers! We must learn from the life of Hz. Abu Bakr, because it has so many lessons for how the true believer must live.

Hz. Abu Bakr (ra), his life and his example is an example of pure sincerity and devotion. Rasulallah (asws) said about him, ‘When I called people to Islam everybody took time to think about it first, except for Abu Bakr. The moment that I invited him to Islam, he accepted it without any hesitation. And the entire life of Hz. Abu Bakr (ra), he was running after being in the service of Holy Prophet (asws) without any hesitation. And Hz. Abu Bakr, he was always standing up for Haqq. He never gave an inch to Batil. He stood up for Haqq even if it was with his life.

In the early days of Islam, the Holy Prophet (asws) went one day to spread Islam at the Holy Kaaba. One of the Chieftans of the Quraysh, Uqbah ibn Mueet, became so angry that he took a piece of cloth and twisted it around the Holy Neck of the Holy Prophet (asws) and started choking him. Abu Bakr (ra) ran to the help of Holy Prophet (asws) and pushed that man to the side, rescuing Rasulallah. Uqbah was one of the chiefs, and so he called people to attack Hz. Abu Bakr for touching him. And the people they beat Hz. Abu Bakr so badly that he lost consciousness. When he woke up from that beating, the first thing that Hz. Abu Bakr asked was, how is Rasulallah (asws)?

And in that same way Hz. Abu Bakr was running in the defense of Haqq and the defense of Holy Prophet (asws). And he submitted to whatever the Holy Prophet (asws) came with. When Holy Prophet (asws) came back from Miraj, the people began making fun of him calling him a madman. They said, how is it possible for a man to say he went from Mecca to Quds and to the Paradises and come back in one night. And jokingly they came and said to Hz. Abu Bakr, ‘ Ya Abu Bakr, have you heard what your friend is saying? And when Hz. Abu Bakr confirmed that this was the account of Rasulallah (asws), he said, I have always believed in his words about heavenly revelation; how can I disbelieve him in a worldly issue?’ And because of that unwavering belief, Hz. Abu Bakr was given the title of “Siddiq,” the Trustworthy One.

Abu Bakr

After Holy Prophet (asws) passed from this world, Hz. Abu Bakr was given the trust of being the First Khalifa of Islam. And this was not an easy trust. As soon as Holy Prophet (asws) passed from this world, so many of the tribes that had converted to Islam went back to kufr. So many fake prophets started to emerge. Some people said, ‘we believe in all the principles of Islam and Iman, just we don’t want to keep our fasting.’ So what did Hz. Abu Bakr do?

O Believers, pay attention! O Muslims of the 21st Century, pay attention! Did Hz. Abu Bakr say, it is okay, they have their freedom? Did he say, it is okay, they are entitled to their opinion? Did he say, it is okay, everyone can believe whatever they want to believe? Hz. Abu Bakr said, ‘No. We must stand up for Haqq. We must stand up for the Way of Holy Prophet (asws).’ And he declared war on those people. When he declared that war Hz. Umar (ra) asked him, ‘How will you fight those who bear witness that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah?’ Hz. Abu Bakr replied,’We have been commanded to fight against people until they testify that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. If they do that, their blood and property are guaranteed protection on our behalf except when justified by law. Is not Zakah one of Allah’s Rights? By Allah, I will keep fighting those who differentiate between Salah and Zakah. By Allah, if they refuse to give me as much as a baby goat which they used to give during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah, I will fight them on its account. Then Hz. Umar said, ‘It was nothing but Allah who had guided Abu Bakr to fight and I came to realize that he was right.’

The Muslims of today, if they heard this, they will say oh this is intolerance. This is against our modern reasoning. And they are fulfilling the Hadith of Holy Prophet (asws) when he told his Sahabis, If the people of Ahir Zaman see you, they will call you crazy. And if you see them, you would call them kafir. And today, the Muslims of today, they have fallen into the warning of that Hadith.

We are seeing from east to west, north to south, that people who call themselves Muslims, and we are included in that. We are running to change their religion. There are some who call themselves Sheykh-ul-Islam who have made a declaration that those who are Christians and Jews and Hindus have reached to the title of Mu’min. There are those who are publishing translations of the Quran and putting open kufr inside the commentary, saying that it is there for “academic commentary.” They are reviving Fitnah that has been dead for centuries and poisoning the Muslims with it. They are putting Mutazili, Ibadi, Khariji commentary inside their books. They are putting commentary in that Quran that makes people believe that Islam is not the only true religion and that Holy Prophet (asws) is not the Final Prophet. And these types of commentaries and translations, they are the first step in changing the Quran, in taking out those Ayats of the Quran that the unbelievers and enemies of Islam do not like. And Seyh Efendi, Sheykh Abdul Kerim al-Kibrisi al-Rabbani, may Allah have more mercy on him, warned us about this for years, saying that the so-called scholars were going to try to change the Quran. And it is happening in front of our eyes. Seyh Efendi is saying: Holy Prophet (asws) is saying to us, “This is the worst thing that I am afraid for my nation in the Ahir Zaman. They are going to read the Quran and they are going to give explanation to the Ayats according to their own understanding. Then there will be big trouble.” This is what happened today. This is what is happening. Anyone is taking the Quran, reading it and right away giving commentaries. Your commentaries are according to your knowledge. It’s according to your own wisdom. It’s according to your own worldly knowledge. Nothing else.

So yes, we need to follow the way of Siddiq al-Akbar. We need to separate ourselves from those ones who are changing the religion. We cannot have toleration for it. We should not accept it in our heart.

And do not think that those ones who want to change Islam from the inside are different from the enemies of Islam from the outside. Both want Islam to be secular. Those who are trying to change the Quran, they are no different from those who are comparing the women who cover themselves to slaves. Because both of them have the same goal. Their goal is to change Islam to become secular. To make Islam to have no heybet. To make Islam to have no glory. They want to disconnect Muslims from their history, and make a new fake religion and call it Islam. O Believers! O Followers of Sahib el-Sayf! We are not going to follow a fake religion. We are going to follow the Siddiqi Way that has been passed to us from Holy Prophet (asws), from Hz. Abu Bakr, through 40 Grandsheykhs, through our Sheykh. If we stick to that, we are going to be in safety. Insya’Allah.

O Believers! Don’t forget the words of Hz. Abu Bakr when he went to fight Musaylama the Liar and his helpers. He said,’We are going to fight people who say they believe in Allah. They look like us. They pray like us. Their slogan is going to be “Ya Allah.” But we are the true believers and our slogan is going to be “Ya Muhammad! Ya Muhammad!”’

O Believers! We must be the ones who say Ya Muhammad. We must be the ones who follow the Way of Rasulallah (asws) no matter what. We must be the ones who stand up for Truth and oppose Batil. Even if the whole world is against us, we will carry that tradition. We will be the strange ones. And insha’Allah, we will be the ones that will get the glad tidings and Selam of Holy Prophet (asws) for the strangers. Amin. We are not fighting against to anyone. There is no permission for us to engage in any violence or in any difficulties to other people. But the Holy Prophet (asws) is saying, ‘If you see something wrong, do not agree with it. If you can change it, change it with you hands. If you cannot, change it with your tongue, and if you cannot, change it inside our heart. But that is the lowest level of faith.’ We have reached to the lowest level of faith. There is no permission without the Khalifah to change anything. We are asking Allah that our hearts will not change from Haqq to Batil, and  we are not standing for this. We are ending with the words of our Sheykh who is saying: We are approaching those days and we are watching the hadith of Rasulullah (asws) and we are very happy about it.

He is saying, “Islam began strange and it’s going to end strange. Blessings and protection to the strangers. Especially those who are going to come in the Ahir Zaman, in the End of Times.” That news is for the people who are living now because we are in the second Jahiliyya time and we are almost at the end of that Jahiliyya too. The good news is that the Protector is waiting to appear, inshaAllah ar-Rahman. We are asking that Allah swt bring us that protector, Mahdi (as) to come soon.

Ya Rabbi! Let us to be in the company of the Siddiqs, in the Company of our Sheykh, in the company of that Protector who is coming. Take away all wrongness from our hearts, all hatred from our hearts. Ya Rabbi we are asking You to make us to become sincere ones, to keep truth in our hearts, for the sake of the Holy Prophet (asws). Amin.
