O Believers! Welcome to you on this Holy Day of Jummah. Welcome to you on the Last Jummah of the Month of Safar. Welcome to you as we are preparing to enter into the Holy Month of Rabiul Awwal in just a few days, as we are preparing to enter into the celebration of the birthday of the Holy Prophet (asws), the Mevlid-i-Nebi, when Allah (SWT) sent His Habib into this world. Insha’Allah, we are making intention to enter clean and pure into the month of Rabiul Awwal, and we are asking our Lord to protect us from whatever curses that are raining for the rest of the month of Safar.

Ya Ayyuhal Mu’minoon! O Believers! Allah (SWT) is saying in the Holy Quran, in Surah an-Nisa: BismillahirRahmanirRahim. O you who believe! Stand up firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even if it is against yourselves, or your parents, or your relatives, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for Allah can best protect both. So do not follow your desires so you become unjust. And if you twist or decline to do justice, verily Allah is well Informed with all that you do. (4:135). Sadaqallahul adzim.

And in Surah an-Nahl, Allah (SWT) is saying: BismillahirRahmanirRahim. Indeed, Allah commands justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He instructs you that perhaps you will be reminded. (16:90). Sadaqallahul adzim.

O Believers! The Religion of Islam, the Straight Path sent from Allah (SWT) , the completion of all earlier revelation from all of 124 000 Prophets that have been sent since the time of Adam (as) to the time of Jesus, Isa (as), this is a religion of Justice. And one of the biggest missions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (asws), it was to get rid of the world of injustice. Because in  that first Jahiliyya, the age of ignorance when he was born in, over 1400 years ago, the world had sunk into oppression and tyranny. What is justice? Our Grandsheykh, Sheykh Mawlana Muhammad Nazim Adil el-Hakkani (KS) is giving us the definition of justice according to Islam, saying: Justice is to uphold the rights of others in the same way as you would like for yourselves. If you do not do this, then you are not a just person.

So justice is to keep everyone’s rights, not just your rights or your family’s rights or your community’s rights or your tribe’s rights or the rights of your ethnicity, or the rights of your nationality or the rights of your blood, it is to keep everyone rights regardless of who they are. This is something that was very radical now, as it was 1400 years ago. Because it is in the nature of man to divide. It is in the nature of man to look no further than the color of your skin, that only if they scratch a little bit, they will understand that we all bleed the same. Zulm, oppression, is to keep the rights only of the people who are like yourself and to oppress other people, to uphold your rights. Justice upholds the rights of everyone. Regardless of a person’s race, or ethnicity, or religion; according to Islam, that person needs to be given their rights. That is justice. And justice is the most important principal that govern Islam and the world for over six hundred years, that was held on by our Ottoman grandfathers. And when a community stops giving people their rights, then disaster follows.

Holy Prophet (asws) is saying in his Hadith Sherif: The nations before you came to grief and destruction because they used to be very soft and merciful to high status people who committed crimes. But when a person of a humble origin or low status did something, they would have the harshest punishment put on them. Wallahi, if my own daughter Fatimah were to steal, I would have her hand cut off.

So the nation gets destroyed when it stops being just. When society starts saying, certain people are entitled to justice, and certain people don’t deserve justice, people who are like us in the color of our skin, or like us in our lifestyle, or like us in our religion, and everyone else has only half a soul and no soul compared to people of our own religion, when society starts saying only certain people is entitled to justice, and certain people don’t deserve, then the Holy Prophet (asws) is saying that society is going to face grief and destruction.

Whoever thinks that there is justice in the world today must be blind. From east to west, from the Muslim world to the non-Muslim world, this world has sunk into oppression, into tyranny. We are living in the 21st century, where as soon as we open our Facebook, we can see what is happening everywhere. Nothing is a secret. We cannot pretend to be ignorant, but we can choose to be ignorant. Look what is happening in Syria. Look what is happening in Burma, in Myanmar. Look what is happening in Palestine, look what is happening in America, look what is happening in France. Look what is happening in China, in Russia, in Africa. Let’s look what is happening in Halab, Aleppo. That city has been divided into half. Half of the city, it is living in luxury. They are having nice meals and they are going to nightclubs and partying. That is the side of the city that is high-class, that is loyal to the tyrannical government in that country. The other half of the city, it is turned into a hell. The government, with help from other countries, it is bombing that half of the city non-stop. They are purposely bombing the hospitals so that nobody has any place to go when they are hurt. When people are taking the bodies for a funeral, they bomb the funeral. They are purposely bombing the little children so there will be no hope left in the city.

That is happening right  in front of our eyes. But the world doesn’t say anything; why? Because they believe that those innocent people in the eastern part of Aleppo, that their life is worth less than that of other people. That is just one example of what is happening. And that tyranny is going unchecked. Governments are not standing against it. Scholars are not standing against it. In fact, in these days, we see that the Muslim scholars are running to stand with every tyrant. They are running to support tyranny. They are running to visit the tyrants and to break bread with them. And by doing so, they are supporting his tyranny and they are a part of it, whether they know it or not. Even if they are thinking, well if I become friends with this one he is going to change and become good, they have already lost. Because just by sitting with those tyrants, they are legitimizing them. Holy Prophet (asws) said: One who walks with a tyrant, in the full knowledge that he is a tyrant, in order to strengthen him, is such as has already left the fold of Islam.

So that is the condition of the Muslim scholars and the Muslim world. We live here in the United States. Do not think that this is a country full of justice and fairness. Yes, we preach those values, but we are not practicing them. We just passed through the “holiday” of thanksgiving in this country, when they say they are celebrating the day that the colonizers ate dinner with the Native Americans. They are perverting the history of what was done to the Native Americans in this country. 90% of the Native Americans that lived in this country were systematically exterminated by the European colonizers. There were more than 10 million Native Americans living in America when the Europeans came. In 1900, there were less than 300,000. That is tyranny, that is not thanksgiving.

And yet Muslims in this country are saying, come on brother, let’s put the turkey in the oven and celebrate this holiday. What’s wrong with it? It’s Yawm al-Shukr, isn’t it? We should be doing thanksgiving too. Not realizing that by sharing in that holiday, you are taking a share of the oppression that it represents. You are sharing that oppression that it is still representing and it is still carrying on in right now different parts of the country, in North Dakota, in other parts of the country where still their rights have been taken away.

So yes, America may preach equality and fairness and tolerance, but its history shows a very much darker side, that unless we wake up and we understand where we have fallen as a nation, we will never get up. We have fallen. Until we understand and we take steps not to trip over those falls again, we will never get up and worse will happen. And worse had happened, and it is still happening. The fact that today, this country has more people in prison than any other country in the world, most of them black, shows another side. And things that we are going to buy today until Christmas, until New Year, the products, the unnecessary clutter that we are going to purchase, it has the blood of those ones who are being oppress. Whether from the prison system of this country, or the prison system or factories in other countries in the world. We are Muslims. We are Naksibendis. We are Hakkanis. And it is our job to speak the Truth and to stand for Justice, even if, as the ayat is saying, it is against ourselves.

So yes, this world is full of darkness and tyranny. This lying world, it is full of oppression. But as believers, we know that it has not always been this way, and it will not always be this way. Believers must know their history. Believers must know that during the time of the Khilafat, of the Caliphate, during the time of the Ottoman, justice was guaranteed to everyone, justice was not a privilege, it was a right. The Bedouin could take the nobleman to Court. The jewish person could take the Muslim to Court. And the judge, the Qadi would decide for whoever was right, not whoever had a higher position. And that justice reached its pinnacle in the days of the Ottoman Khilafat; the Justice of Islam became so famous that even the non-Muslims would choose to go to Muslim courts instead of their own religious courts. Because Islam comes with Divine Justice, and that is the most fair and the most perfect because Divine Justice is always heavy on mercy.

That is Divine Justice, it is hidden from this world, but it is coming back. Our Sheykh, who has a vision of what is coming, is teaching to us, saying, that in the End of Times: Holy Prophet (asws) is saying to us, “Hold on tightly to my sunnat. Apply those sunnats to your life, not just by word, but to take them and to put them in your life. And leave the city areas. Move away from the city areas to the mountainsides and keep your faith according to as much as you know. Don’t go around searching so much also because you are going to see so many books everywhere and so many people are speaking so many things, but they are only going to give you more confusion. Everything that you are going to learn is going to make you more confused. So if you know a couple of hadiths, apply them to your life, try to live a correct lifestyle and wait for the Sahib-uz Zaman Muhammad Mahdi (as) to take the takbir.” This is what we are doing, this is what we are waiting for and inshaAllah ar-Rahman this is what we are trying to apply to our life. We have no claim in this world. Anyone who is claiming is not too intelligent. Allah (SWT) is the authority. There is no super power except Him. He is the Supreme Ruler of this world. All these wrong systems must come down. All the wrong ones must come down and all the tyrants must be taken away from this world. When the takbir is coming with Mahdi (as) then all things much change and right away all these tyrants must be taken away from this life.

So we are following that advice. And we sitting, and we are working, and we are waiting. Waiting for a time when Justice is going to come to this world. But we are not just waiting, we are making ourselves to become people of justice. We are not trying to make any movements or make any revolutions, no. We are sitting quietly, fighting to our egos, living in the mountains, and trying to be obedient servants. But the one who is going to take down the zulm, the cruelty, the tyranny, the one who is going to destroy tyranny, the one who is going to raise up the flag of Truth and Justice, that one is Mehdi (as). And we are waiting for him insha’Allah ar-Rahman. Muslims today, they don’t want to talk about Mehdi (as). They don’t want to talk about Dejjal. They don’t want to believe in Dejjal. But Holy Prophet (asws) said, when the Imams stop talking about dejjal from the mimbar, know that his time is coming.

We are in that time. And we must be very careful. O Believers! O Murids! Don’t put your faith in this dunya, which is a dunya of oppression. Put your faith in Allah (SWT) and the People of Allah. Stay in their company. That time, insha’AllahurRahman, we will be from those that are beloved by the Holy Prophet (asws).

Seyh Efendi is saying: Anyone who has tyranny in their hearts someway somehow (to any one of us, to any one of them or to someone at all) should prepare themselves for punishment. Turn yourself saying, “Ya Rabbi! I am asking help and support from You against this tyranny that is inside of me. Clean me from that.” Then you will be counted in the book as `The people of Mehdi (alayhi salam)’ and you will be among those that the Holy Prophet (AS) praised and he is giving salams saying to his Sahaba, “I cannot wait to meet my brothers in the Judgment Day.” They said, “Ya Rasulullah, aren’t we your brothers?” He said, “No, you are my companions. My brothers are those who are going to come in the end of time, in the Ahir Zaman. Everywhere everything is going to be for their ego but they are going to leave that way and they are going to run, they are going to hold on tightly to my traditions. Those are my brothers.” And he said to them, “I am giving them salams in front of you.” Holy Prophet (asws) is sending salam to us, whoever is coming until the end of times.

We are asking our Lord to be from the people who hear that salam, in the company of our Sheykh. Amin.
