We are sent to this world as representative of Allah. How do I conduct myself to live up to that station?

Question: You mentioned that we are  sent to this world as representative of Allah. How do I conduct myself to live up to that station?

Be around and learn from those ones who are the representative of Allah, and you will learn how to conduct yourself in that station. Don’t read about them. Be with them. As Allah SWT is saying in the Quran e-Kerim, giving an order to us, ‘Be with the Saliheen.’

Allah is not giving us an order to be Saliheen because He knows we are very weak. He says, ‘Be with the Saliheen.’ Being with the Saliheen meaning keep your ego out. Keep your ego far away. Come to their presence empty, come to their presence humble. Learn. What you understand and what you don’t understand., take it. What you like or what you don’t like, take it. Because they are the representative of Allah. Who are the representative of Allah? Always there’s a hundred and twenty four thousand of them living on the face of this world. These are the friends of Allah and each and every single one of them, they are occupying that maqam of that Prophet  that Allah swt sent to this world. Find that one that has been sent to you. Don’t just try to aim for something that is not sent to you. People are just going to find what they are looking for.

We are not following Sheykh Effendi, we are not following  this way to become Saint. We did not come to Sheykh Effendi’s presence and say, ‘teach me how to become a friend of Allah.’ That is showing complete arrogance and stubbornness. We come, when we see our Sheykh, understanding that is our Grandsheykh, understanding that we are looking now at the representative of the Holy Prophet (asws) that has been sent to us. What is our Sheykh offering us? Is that something that we are looking for? It is. Take it. And what is our Sheykh offering us? He’s offering us to become a servant. Not a friend of Allah, not an arif, not an alim, to become Abdullah, then we learn what it means to be a servant. We learn first, are we Abdullah? In reality, we are all servants, we’ve been created as servant, but we are not servant of Allah yet. Who are the servants of Allah? The Prophets and the Saints, they are the servants of Allah. We, we are still serving sheytan. We, we are still serving this world. We don’t know it yet. We are still serving our ego. We are still serving our desires. Majority, that’s what they are doing. Waking up everyday, ‘how can I serve my desire more today?’ Going to sleep, dreaming how can I serve my desire more tomorrow?

Our Sheykh is making us first to understand: Look, it’s very good, but understand what are you serving right now first? If you don’t understand who you are serving right now, you cannot serve Allah. First you have to get rid of that Lord that you are serving right now, then you can start serving Allah. If you cannot get rid of that Lord that you are serving right now and you say I don’t want to get rid of it but I also want to serve Allah, that time you are making a shirk. You understand? First you have to get rid of that Lord that you are serving. So many, it is our ego that we are serving. Get rid of that. Get rid of that Lord. Get rid of that Ilah. Say, ‘La ilaha,’ Ilallah will come. Ilallah will come according to the faith of those ones who are already in the way of Allah. La ilaha, it is our way. It is not their way. To say ‘No,’ to the Lord, it is specific to us. It is not to them. Do you understand? Then slowly, when they make us to realize what we are serving and how to get rid of it, ‘Ilallah,’ Ilallah, Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah. That time you know, when you see the man of Allah, the Saint, the Rijalullah, it will remind us of Allah. Allah, Allah. And we always just want to be with them because when we are close to them, we are only reminded of Allah. If we are far away from them, we don’t remember Allah too much, we remember ourselves more, our desires, our sheytan, this dunya.

That’s why sohbet it is very important. To be in association, it will remind you of Allah. So find that one.  Be with him, insya’Allah. That time slowly you will learn. This is  slowly just wetting our feet at the shore. We are not even going anywhere. We don’t need too, to know what lies beyond that. We just need to take everything out, to be able to enter into the water safely so that we are not going to drown. Where they are going to bring us in the water, where the water is going to bring us, where how we are going to submit, that one, the ocean it has its secrets. Let it to stay there.
