Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Alamin. Wasalatu wa salamu ala rasulina Muhammadin wa ala alihi wa sahbihi ajmain nahmadulllahu ta’ala wa nastaghfiruhu wa nashadu an-lailaha ilallahu wahdahu la sharika lah wa nashadu anna sayyidina Muhammadin abduhu wa habibuhu wa rasuluhu salallahu alayhi wa ala alihi wa azwajihi wa ashabihi wa atbaihi.
Khulafail Rashidin mahdin min ba’di wuzerail immeti alal tahkik. Khususan minhum alal amidi khulafai rasulillahi ala tahqeeq. Umara il mu’mineen. Hazreti abu bakr wa umar wa uthman wa ali. Wa ala baqiyati wa sahabai wa tabieen, ridwanallahu ta’ala alayhimayyuhal mu’minun al hadirun, ittaqullaha ta’ala wa ati’uh. Inna allaha ma allathina-ttaqaw wal-lathina hum muhsinun. Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Alameen. Wa Salatu wa Salamu ala Ashrafil Ambiya’i wa Imam al-Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadin wa ala alihi wa sahbihi ajmain. Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Alameen. Wa Salatu wa Salamu ala Ashrafil Ambiya’i wa Imam al-Mursaleen Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadin wa ala alihi wa sahbihi ajmain.
All praises are due to Allah, Lord of the Universes. All praises are due to Allah, the First, the Last, the Manifest, the Hidden, the One Who has Might and Power over all things. All praises are due to Allah Who created Adam (AS) with His Divine Hands, and Who honored the Children of Adam. All praises are due to Allah Who sent the Most Honored One in Divine Presence, Sayyidina Muhammad (AS), as the Mercy to the Universes.
And may all peace and blessings be upon the Sultan of Creation, the Imam of the Messengers, the Master of the Arab and the Ajam, the Sayyid of the First and the Last, the Grandfather of Hasan and Huseyin, Sayyidina Muhammad (AS), and upon his noble family and blessed companions. Especially upon the Four Khulafa-e-Rashideen, Hz. Abu Bakr el-Siddik, Hz. Umar el-Faruq, Hz. Osman el-Ghani, and Hz. Ali el-Murtaza, and all those who follow them until the Last Day.
Ya Ayyuhal Mu’minoon! O Believers! Welcome to you on this Holy Day of Jummah, the First Jummah of the Blessed Month of Ramazan. This is a tremendous month. It is a gift from Allah (SWT) to the Ummat-i-Muhammed. The special characteristics of this month does not occur any other time in the year.
Holy Prophet (AS) is saying: When Ramazan enters, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed and the sheytans they are chained. (Bukhari and Muslim). And in a Hadith Qudsi, Allah (SWT) is saying: The fast belongs to Me, and I provide its reward. When someone keeps the fast he is abstaining from his bodily desire, his eating and his drinking, for My sake. The fast is a suit of armor. Moreover, two occasions of joy are in store for the person who is keeping the fast: joy at the moment of breaking his fast and joy at the moment of meeting his Lord. (Ghunya) And Hz. Salman al-Farisi (RA) is narrating that Holy Prophet (AS) said: The first third of the month of Ramadan is the time for mercy, the second third is for forgiveness, the third is for freedom from Hellfire. (Ibn Khuzaymah)
O Believers! Elhamdulillah that we are in this Holy Month. And we are now in the days of seeking the Mercy of Allah (SWT). Allah (SWT) is saying in the Holy Quran, in Surah Baqara: BismillahirRahmanirRahim And when My servants ask you, Ya Muhammad (AS), concerning Me – indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me by obedience and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided. (2:186). SadallahulAdzim.
O Believers! Allah (SWT) has described Himself in the Holy Quran as Al-Rahman and Al-Raheem. And He has designated these days, the first ten days of Ramazan, as the days that He is bestowing His Mercy upon the creation. He is saying in the Holy Quran: BismillahirRahmanirRahim. Say, O My servants who have done Zulm against themselves do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful. (39:53). Sadaqallahuladzim.
The Mercy of our Lord, Allah (SWT), it is endless. In this Month, we must run toward Him and ask for that Mercy, because we are definitely from those who have done Zulm to ourselves. That is why we are saying the prayer of Hz. Yunus (AS) who said, ‘La ilaha illa Anta Subhanaka inni Kuntu Min az-Zalimeeni – There is nothing worthy of worship but You, Glory be to You, verily I am from the tyrants.’ For a man to receive the Mercy of Allah (SWT), he must first ask for that Mercy. And for a man to be seeking the Mercy of Allah (SWT), he must understand that he is a Zalim. That he is a zalim to himself, to others, to his family, to the society, to the Prophet AS), to Allah. And until the man comes to that realization, he will continue to go through life living as a tyrant without waking up. That is why Yunus (AS), he came to Allah and said,’Verily I am from the Zalimeen.’ A man seeking the Mercy of Allah (SWT) must come to Allah with humility and regret. Allah (SWT) will not show His Mercy to the tyrants. Holy Prophet (AS) is saying in his Hadith Sherif: Allah will not be merciful to those who are not merciful to mankind. (Bukhari and Muslim). And in a companion Hadith he is saying, Verily, Allah is merciful only to His servants who are merciful. (Bukhari and Muslim). In this Month of Ramazan, when sheytan is locked up and he is not there to trick us, we have to ask ourselves, is my nature merciful? Am I merciful to others? Or am I just being a tyrant and following tyranny?
The Evliyaullah, they are concentrating on teaching the people how to answer that question. Because if a man leaves this world with the title of “zalim, tyrant” then his Ahiret will be a disaster for him. Today, the whole world has become tyrants. The Evliyaullah is describing, the presidents and the prime ministers are tyrants. The individuals inside their houses with their families are tyrants. Tyrannizing not just people, tyrannizing the earth itself, and there is a price to pay for tyranny.
Our Sheykh, Sahib el-Sayf Sheykh Abdul Kerim el-Kibrisi el-Rabbani (KS) is teaching to us, saying: In the beginning Adam (AS) and Hawa anna were in Paradise. And Allah (SWT) addressed to them, saying to them, `This is Paradise. Stay in it. Eat and drink. Enjoy the Paradise. Do not go near that tree. If you do you will become from the tyrants.’ And they did. Sheytan fooled them. He fooled Hawa, Hawa fooled Adam (AS) and they became tyrants. We are saying now to people on the face of the earth, `You are tyrants.’ They are raising their heads right away. Allah is saying that you are tyrants, that we are tyrants. Why are you upset? The anger is proving that you are a tyrant. The anger is proving that you are still on the top level of tyranny. You didn’t come down, didn’t step down. If Allah subhana wa ta’ala is calling Adam (as) and Hawa tyrants, what are you?If you are not a tyrant then you are going back to Paradise. If you are not a tyrant then the Paradise door is open to you in Dunya. If you are not a tyrant then you are smelling the Paradise. So about tyranny Allah (SWT) is saying, `I don’t love the tyrants.’ The ones that Allah doesn’t love, that one is a Kafir. Every tyrant is a Kafir. Every Kafir is not a tyrant. There is a chance for that one that he will find safety. But the tyrants, until they ask for forgiveness and they will be sincere with their asking, forgiveness will not be given to them. So many people came to earth and those who became obedient, they passed, they finished their tyranny and they went to their paradises.So many came, continued with their tyranny, they carried the loads of this world, they suffered above the ground and now they are suffering under the ground. The angel of death is going to reach to you. It’s going to reach to me. Today you are above the ground. You can go anywhere you want, you can say anything you want, you can do anything you want. As much permission is given to you, that much you are going to run and you are going to do. But Allah (SWT) is saying, `I will not let tyrants to go. I will release my rope on them for sometime. But My hand will reach to them one day.’
So that is the reality of the tyrants. The tyrants are those that are not beloved by Allah (SWT). And Seyh Efendi is saying that every tyrant, he is a kafir. Seyh Efendi is giving the definition of a kafir and unbeliever, saying: Don’t make the mistake to love the wrong people, those who don’t love Allah, or you will be entering into that category. Kafir? Kafir is that one who is putting up what Allah is putting down and whom Allah is putting down he is taking that one and putting him up, meaning showing value. If we are showing some value to something that Allah doesn’t like and Allah doesn’t love then you are directly rebellious to Allah (SWT). You are an unbeliever. You lost your faith. Whatever you do, that faith is not saving you because you are becoming rebellious to Allah (SWT) directly.
O Believers! These are heavy words, and we must check ourselves according to these words. In this Month of Ramazan, in these days of Mercy, we must ask ourselves- am I keeping a Muslim name, but in reality, I am living like a kafir? May Allah protect us. Am I putting down what Allah has kept high? And if we look at the condition of the Muslims in the world, we see this is happening. This disease is starting to infect the Ummet.
Allah (SWT) has sent His Habib, Sayyidina Muhammad (AS) as the Most Honored One. Yet today, we see Muslims running to dishonor their Prophet. Saying, it’s ok, you can draw his cartoon. It’s ok, you can talk badly about his wives. It’s ok, you can insult him. It’s ok, you can say that he and his religion are backward and barbaric. We are just going to turn the other cheek. And slowly by adopting that attitude, they start to live that way. And that is why today so many are saying, ‘well, Shariat is just a theoretical framework for society. We don’t need to follow Shariat. We don’t need Khilafat. We don’t need a Sultan. We can make our own laws, humanitarian, liberal laws. Those laws are actually better than what is coming from Allah and His Prophet.’ And with this whispering of sheytan, slowly, the faith exits the heart, and kufr enters instead. And that time, yes, people become tyrants. And Allah (SWT) withholds His Mercy from the tyrants.
O Believers! We must keep repeating, La ilaha illa Anta Subhanaka inni kuntu min az-Zalimeen. We must remove the tyranny from ourselves. Because tyranny is unacceptable in the Sight of Allah. Allah Azza wa Jala is saying, ‘I have forbidden tyranny to Myself. Do not be tyrants.’
If we come to Allah (SWT) humbly asking for forgiveness and Mercy, Allah (SWT) will show His Mercy to us. He is saying in a Hadith Qudsi: O son of Adam! However much you call upon Me and place your hopes in Me, I will forgive you without any reservation. O son of Adam! If you have sins piling up to the clouds and then ask My forgiveness, I will forgive you without any reservation. O son of Adam! If you come to me with enough mistakes to fill the Earth, and meet Me without associating anything as a partner with Me, I will come to you with enough forgiveness to fill the Earth. (Tirmidhi).
Our Sheykh is teaching us how to stand at the Door of Mercy, saying: There are two doors. One is the door of mercy, the door of Rahmat and the other one is the door of curse, the door of laknat. Allah is not putting us there but mankind is insisting and running to that laknat door (cursing door). A simple way to be able to stay at the door of mercy is to be always happy with what Allah has given, saying, “Alhamdulillah Ya Rabbi! What you have given to me is the best.” Being a thankful servant. If you are being a thankful servant then you never turn to the door of curse, the door of complaints. The only people standing at the door of mercy are those who are pleased with their Lord and at the door of curse are those ones who are complaining.
We are thankful to our Lord Allah SWT. And we are thankful to Him for making us to be from the Ummat of the Mercy to the Universes, Sayyidina Muhammad (AS). The key to Allah’s Mercy is that Prophet. Our Sheykh is saying, Say to yourself, “What is my love towards that Prophet (AS)? Do I really love that Prophet (AS)?” How many times a day with an awakening station – not heedlessly just to say because we are asking how many salawats a day you are making here, but with an awakening station – are you saying salawat to that Prophet (AS)? You will understand by yourself. People will understand surrounding you. Some different activities will be happening with you. Even if you are in the worst position, life comes out from you because that Prophet (AS) he is giving life. Rahmatallil Alameen. Allah (SWT) sent that one to be Rahmat, to be mercy to the whole mankind, to everything else and to the other creatures.
O Believers! In this Month, we should run after the Mercy of Allah. Let us run toward Rasulallah (AS) and his inheritors. we should run to remove the tyranny from our own hearts and to be those servants who are living to please our Lord. We are asking our Lord, Allah (SWT), to accept our Ramazan. Amin.
