Question: How do we understand the importance of the first ten days of Zul Hijj?

Allah is not mentioning, Allah is swearing. How do you understand the importance? I’ve been talking for the past half hour on that, for the past seven years, about the importance. If you’re looking to see importance, running with the eyes of, not saying you, you, but wahhabi, ‘oh I have to do this, this, this, I have to do this,’ then we have lost the point of being in Tarikat.

The first ten days, the nine days leading up to the tenth day, the tenth day it is the Hajj. Meaning what? Hajj meaning what, what does it mean, Hajj? What does it mean? It means Judgment Day. Don’t look to see, ‘oh, union with lover and beloved,’ it means Judgment Day. The Arafat it is a Judgment Day, you’re going to wear this, this is what you’re going to wear when you’re going to the Hajj, your kaffan.

This is what you’re going to wear when you’re in the Field of Mashar, your kaffan that you’re wrapped up in. When they put you into that hole in the ground. How should you prepare? You should prepare yourself with fear. Have some fear. Because fear is something that we have lost. It’s turned into so much love that it becomes evil, and there is no fear. The fear that we have it’s because of love, but lets put that aside. Fear, because this is real. Have a little bit of fear, I’m saying to you and to myself. Is Allah not deserving of our fear? How many nations He has finished from this world? How many nations He has punished? How many nations He has burned? Young, old, man, woman. Everything done. The days leading up to the Hajj now, that is our Judgment Day, have fear.

One way that you can do, I’ve been talking about so many things, one thing you can do, if I die right now and I come into Judgment place, right now, what am I going to carry with me? What sins am I going to carry with me? Ask for forgiveness from that. At least try to sit somewhere and cry to your Lord out of fear and say, ‘please, don’t punish me, please.’ Don’t play around so much with, ‘oh, I have, I’m guaranteed the shafaat of the Prophet, I’m guaranteed the shafaat of my Sheykh, I’m guaranteed this, I’m guaranteed that.’ No Prophet ever said that they are guaranteed. None. No Sahabi-e-Kiram offered themselves as guarantees, even if they are Ashara Mubashara that Allah has guaranteed them, Ashara Mubashara, those ten who are promised paradise, Hz Umar was the first one to think that he was on the list of munafiqs. Oh, these days they’re calling each other munafiq. Why you don’t call yourself munafiq? You think you’re following the sunnat of Hz Umar? Why you don’t call yourself that?

Hmm, Sufism, nice words, sohbet, muhabbat, nice words. Have a little bit of fear, pull yourself back a little bit, the Hajj is the Day of Judgment, then offer ourselves as a sacrifice. InsyaAllah, then every year it is going to be different, it must be, it cannot be what we always think that it is, it must be different. InsyaAllah, may Allah bless our Sheykh and always have us under his feet. Worship more, make zikr more, fast if you want to, do all these things, but have some meaning in your life, don’t just do these things in order to get more credit, thinking you’re going to go to higher stations. Sit and take account, all those wrong things that we’re still carrying with us that we know if Azrail comes to us right now we’re in very big trouble. Look at the fire that we have, that we’re carrying, and ask Allah, ‘please ya Rabbi, forgive me, take this fire away from me,’ and that time insyaAllah, we’re taking our Lord a little bit more seriously. May Allah forgive me and bless you insyaAllah, al Fatiha. Amin, selam aleykum.
