Why don’t we say we have a direct connection to Allah?

Question: Why do we not say that we have a direct connection to Allah Almighty?

Why do we not say that we have a direct connection to Allah? There is a direct way, but can anyone say that that way, there are no obstacles in that way between you and Allah? Can anyone say, ‘no, no, no, there is no obstacle between me and Allah,’? If you say there is no obstacle then you must be a Prophet, right? There is a way, everyone has their own way, direct way. Because Allah is saying, ‘I am closer to you than your jugular vein,’ He didn’t say, ‘I’m closer to only the Arabs, to the Arabic jugular veins,’ or to Turkish or to Pakistanis, He didn’t, He says, ‘to all of mankind,’ He didn’t even say Muslims. He says everyone. So nobody can say on the Judgment Day, ‘well, revelation didn’t come to me, knowledge didn’t come to me, understanding didn’t come to me.’ Allah is very close to us, but we are very far away from Allah.

This is what Tarikat is teaching us. Saying that, yes, there is a direct way, but there are veils, there are obstacles, there are things that we put in between us and Allah, what is that veil? Your anger is a veil. Your jealousy, arrogance, a person with a mustard seed of arrogance cannot enter into a Paradise, let alone to be with Allah. Can anyone say, ‘no, I don’t have any arrogance at all,’? Your saying that is arrogant. So now you know that there are so many, like what the Friends of Allah they are saying, ‘there are seventy thousand veils between you and Allah.’ So now, the veils it is not physical, it is a spiritual veil, it’s something that is inside your heart. So now you’re going to find someone who is going to teach you how to get rid of those veils, this is what Islamic spirituality, this is what Tarikat is. To remove those veils. So that that way is open. Eh, if we ask you, why you want direct connection to Allah? You cannot answer. Then what? Then what? ‘Oh I just want to be with Allah,’ then what? No Prophet ever says that, Prophets they were not sent to this world saying, ‘Oh, I just want to be with You, Allah.’ No, they have big job here and they have a big job hereafter too. Now we come back to service.

InsyaAllah, may the way be open for us to accept those ones that Allah has placed on us, as Allah is saying, ‘obey Allah, obey your Prophet, and obey your rightly guided leaders,’ for us to accept that rightly guided leader, and to hold on insyaAllah, tightly. Fatiha. Amin. Selam Aleykum wa Rahmatullah.
