All praises are due to Allah, Lord of the Universes, Who says in the Kuran-i-Kerim, in Surah al-Waqiah: BismillahirRahmanirRahim, “It is We Who have created you- why will you not witness the Truth? Don’t you see the seed that comes out from you? Did you create it, or are We the Creator? We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be frustrated. That We may change you and make you what you know not. And truly you know the first creation- why then, do you not remember? Have you seen the seed you plant in the ground? Do you make it grow, or are We the Grower? If We wanted, We could make it crumble to dry powder, and you would be left in wonder, saying, “indeed, we are now in debt! Truly, we have been shut out (of the fruits of our labor). Have you looked at the water that you drink? Do you bring it down from the rain cloud, or do We? If We wanted, We could have made (the water) bitter. Why then, do you not give thanks? Have you seen the fire that you ignite? Do you make the trees (that feed the fire) to grow, or are We the Grower? We have made it a reminder and comfort for the dwellers in the wilderness. So praise the name of your Lord, Al-Azeem (The Supreme).” (56:57- 74). Sadaqallahuladzim.
May all peace and blessings be upon the Beloved of Allah, Sayyidina Muhammad (AS). The Holy Prophet (AS) is saying in a Hadith recorded in Dalail Khayrat by Imam al-Jazuli (KS): “On the Pillars of the Arsh of Allah are written the following words: “He who desires to meet Me, I bless him. He who asks from Me, I give him. He who reads Salawat upon My Habib desiring My Nearness, I pardon his sins, even if they are more than the foam of the ocean.” (Dalail Khayrat). “O Allah- send your blessings upon Sayyidina Muhammad and his family whenever he is remembered by those who remember him, and send your blessings upon Sayyidina Muhammad and his family even when he is not remembered by the people of ghaflat, and grant him peace and blessings in abundance.” (Salawat of Imam Shafii).
May peace and blessings be upon his noble family and blessed companions, especially upon the Four Khulafa-e-Rashideen, Hz. Abu Bakr el-Siddiq, Hz. Umar el-Faruq, Hz. Osman el-Ghani, and Hz. Ali el?Murtaza, and all those who follow them until the Last Day. May peace and blessings be upon the Inheritors of the Holy Prophet, the Naksibendi Grandsheykhs. May peace and blessings be upon the Ottoman Sultans, the Guardians of the Inheritance of the Rasulallah.
Allahumma Barik Lana fi Rajab wa Shaban wa Ballighna Ramazan.
Ya Ayyuhal Mu’minoon! O Believers! There is no ilah except Allah. La Hawla wa La Quwwata illa Billahil Aliyyil Azem. There is no Might except with Allah! There is no Power except with Allah! Allah is the Most High, the Supreme, the Azim, in Glory! If the whole world comes together to harm you and Allah is your protector, then nothing can harm you. And if the whole world runs to protect you but Allah is against you, then nothing can protect you. He is Allah- Wahdahu La Shareeka Lah.
But today’s mankind forgot that Allah. Today’s mankind denies that Allah. Today’s mankind wants Allah only how they want Allah to be. Today’s mankind has made Allah into their idol. Today’s mankind does not want to give the power and the Might of Allah that is His Right. And when mankind forgets and denies and rejects Allah, Allah (SWT), still in His Mercy, sends them reminders.
We are in a time of reminder. The whole world is in panic and hysteria about something that they cannot see. They are not in fear of Allah that they cannot see. They are only in fear of His weakest soldiers and armies. Nations and cities and towns are shutting down. Churches, synagogues, and yes, so many masjids, are shutting down. But when we look, we see that so many people – yes, so many Muslims- are not taking the lesson from this incident. Instead of looking at this situation and saying, Hasbunallah wa ni’mal wakeel, instead of saying, Allah is enough for me, they are running to governments, they are running to scientists, they are running to grocery stores to take toilet paper, they are running to all these for protection. But they are not running to their sejdah, they are not running to Allah, No foolish person should twist these words to say we are telling people not to take precautions. To take precaution it is Wajib. But we must think and feel and act like believers. Believers follow the Sunnat of the Prophets and Evliya. Believers follow the Sunnat of Hz. Ibrahim (AS), the Father of our Millet.
Our Sheykh, Sahib el-Sayf Sheykh Abdul Kerim el-Kibrisi el-Rabbani (KS) is saying: “The children of Adam (AS) today are very fearful, everywhere. When Adam (AS) has been created and Allah (SWT) was sending Adam (AS) from Paradise to Dunya, as soon as he put his feet on Dunya he became fearful of that darkness. He has never seen such a thing like that. And he was patiently waiting. Morning was happening, sun was rising, he was looking at the sun and he became very fearful with the sun. The sun set and he became very fearful. The moon appeared and he became very fearful. Yes. He looked around him. There were all kinds of unusual animals, creatures coming to him and he became very fearful. Then Allah (SWT) sent Jibrail (AS) to him saying, ‘Ya Adam, your Lord is sending Salam to you. As long as you have your connection with Him, there is nothing for you to fear, to you and to all your children that are going to come. As long as they keep their connection with their Lord, no fear must come around. You must be very powerful.’ And for Adam (AS) after that day, Dunya was not fearful. He didn’t have any fear from Dunya knowing, ‘My Lord didn’t leave me. So He is with me. He is enough for me.’
The angels came to help Ibrahim (AS) when he was thrown to the fire. He was saying to them, ‘Who are you?’ They said, ‘We are the angels.’ He said, `Isn’t Allah seeing me now?’ They said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘He is enough for me. Hasbinallah wa ni’mal wakeel. He is enough for me. If He is wishing to burn me in that fire, I have no complaint because He is watching, He is seeing.’ And that fire turned into Paradise for him. His faith, his faith to Allah (SWT) made that fire turn into Paradise.
So if an individual has that kind of faith, he has no fear and his life becomes paradise, in this Dunya, right now. The connection is there. Allah (SWT) didn’t just give it to one and nobody else. He says, ‘It’s there. You are all My servants. I have created you all. If you are all holding on tightly, I have nothing to lose, I will give you this Dunya and I will give you Akhirat. I will raise you from this Dunya to Akhirat.’ Everyone is going to be questioned in the Judgment Day by themselves. No mother is going to help the son, no father is going to help the son, no son and no daughter is going to help their parents. In the Judgment Day nobody can help each other. As the Holy Prophet (AS) was saying, ‘They are all going to rise coming to the Judgment Place just like they are born from their mothers.’ And Hazrat Aisha (RA) was surprised and she said, `Ya Rasulullah, are we all going to be naked there in the Judgment Place?’ And the Prophet (AS) understood saying, ‘Yes Ya Aisha, but don’t worry. People are going to have so much problems that they are going to think about themselves and they are not going to realize who’s next to them, who’s in front of them, who’s behind them. Nobody’s going to look at nobody then.’” And the words of the friends of Allah they speak the truth.
Hope in Allah and Fear of Allah. These are the wings of faith. If a man loses hope, he flies with one wing and he flies in a circle. If a man loses fear, he flies in a circle. If you lose both wings, you drop down to the ground.
This is the reality. And today’s man has definitely lost both. They lost their hope and their trust in Allah, and looked elsewhere for help. But it is as Allah (SWT) says in the Holy Quran, in Surah Yasin: BismillahirRahmanirRahim, “They have taken other ilahs besides Allah, in order to get help. It is not in their power to help them- but they will be brought up before our Judgment place as a condemned army.” (36:74-75) Sadaqallahuladzim.
If you look for help anywhere other than with Allah and His Prophet, and those whom Allah and His Prophet has sent help for you to look for, then you will be considered a rebel to Allah. Yes, He is not just Allah- Allah and His Prophet (AS). Allah had sent His Prophet as a help and as a Mercy to all the universes, and Allah has decreed and given a command that if we were to find Allah’s help, love and obey that Prophet. This is the Nizam, the Divine System that Allah (SWT) has set for mankind. And when mankind breaks this system, he has broken the rahmat and the connection to Allah and this dunya who is our enemy, and this dunya that is filled with fear will overtake us.
Sultan el-Evliya Seyh Mevlana Muhammad Nazim Adil el-Hakkani (KS) is talking about what happened to man, saying: “100 years ago, people lost trust on their prophets- before they trusted. Anyone who trusts Holy Prophet (AS) is a lucky one, a happy one, a successful one, and is accepted in Divine Presence. The one who trusts Rasulallah (AS) will be supported by heavenly support. Whoever doesn’t trust Prophet (AS), there cannot be any heavenly support for that person. In 1789, the French Revolution happened- that is the beginning for people losing their trust through their prophets. “Revolution” means people losing their trust on their prophets- it means they are losing their beliefs toward their Creator. If a person is losing his belief toward his Lord, then he is cursed. People began to run after the worst people who said, why are you believing or trusting prophets- who are they? We don’t accept them, they are like us. We are not accepting! If a person is not trusting their Prophet then no support- finished- like a carcass. O People! Selamu Aleykum! Hear and trust what Prophet (AS) is saying. Sayyidina Muhammad (AS) was coming alone and he was an orphan. His father passed away when his mother was pregnant with him, and his mother passed away when he was six or seven. He reached to 40 years of age and called the people, “O People! I have been ordered by the Lord of Heavens to call you to say la ilaha il-Allah Muhammadur-Rasulallah.” He said, “we are going to Allah, to Allah, to Allah! Trust me and Allah Almighty will support you.” Did Allah support him or not? Yes, he supported. People were trusting him and Allah supported them. In the time of Sayyidina Umar (RA), within 25 years the Holy Prophet’s territory reached from China to the Atlantic Ocean, up to France. Because people trusted the Seal of Prophets (AS) and Allah Almighty supported them, they made so many empires to be under their feet.” And the words of Sultan el-Evliya speaks the truth.
Trust of Allah it is not just a belief, a concept, something that you just put in your head or in your heart and nothing else. Hasbinallah wa ni’mal wakeel is not a concept. It is a reality that you can feel, and when that reality exists inside a person, inside a leader, inside a people, then nothing can stop them. Allah (SWT) ordered the people to trust in Rasulallah (AS). And when he was veiled from this world, they put their trust in Hz Abu Bakr Siddiq, and Hz Umar, and Hz Ali, and Hz Osman, and Hz Ali, throughout the history of Islam. They had the hope and the fear. Yes, they also had fear. As Seyh Efendi is saying: When Hz. Umar became Khalife he said, ‘Now I am the Khalifah’. And when he was going to make Sohbet to the Sahaba-e Kiram, he was standing, pulling out his sword and sitting and putting it like that (on the floor in front of him), and letting the Sahaba to see the sword. And he was saying to them, ‘If you don’t listen to what I say through the tongue, I know how to put you back to the line again.’ To who? To the Sahaba-e Kiram, to the Tabiin. He said to them, ‘You see the sword? I will not hesitate using this sword on you’.
With these kinds of leaders, and with these kinds of people, Islam had honor. No army, no tyrant, no disease, no poverty, nothing could shake the faith of such believers. And they are not in the books of ancient history. They lived until 100 years ago. You can see their pictures. You can see the pictures of them marching to Canakkale. You can see the faces of those who sacrificed their families, their wealth, their comfort, and yes, their lives, to defend the Khalifa, to defend the Khilafat of Rasulullah (AS), to defend Allah’s rule and law and system in this world. You can see the knowledge on their faces that they aren’t coming back. In their eyes you can see the reality of “Hasbinallah wa ni’mal wakil.” You can see their journals where they are writing, “Ya Rahman! Ya Rahim! Ya Ghafur! Ya Karim! Ya Shakur! Ya Hannan! Ya Mannan! Ya Dayyan! Nasrun min-Allah wa fathun qareeb! Wa basshir al-mu’mineen ya Muhammad (AS)! (Victory is from Allah and a near conquest- so give glad tidings to the believers Ya Muhammad (AS)) Ya Ali! La fataa illa Ali! La sayf illa Zulfiqar! (There is no man of valor but Ali, there is no sword but Zulfiqar). Ya Abu Bakr, Ya Umar, Ya Osman, Ya Ali, Ya Hasan, Ya Huseyin!” This is what they were busy writing in their journals. This is what they were busy thinking and believing. They were not writing to their beloved ones, they were not testing each other funny things.
Yes, Canakkale, which we will remember on Wednesday, it is the inheritance of our grandfathers reaching out to us and calling to us from history. Saying that even in the worst time, even in the most hopeless time, for the people who trust and fear in Allah, even the impossible becomes possible. We are here to continue the history of Islam. Our Sheykh made this place to continue the history of Islam. Not disease, not governments, not death, nothing can stop the Mission of Islam. And we are following the Ottomans- the ones who, with Allah’s Help, with Rasulallah’s (AS) help, with the help of the Awliya Allah, made the impossible to become possible.
Sahib el-Sayf is saying: Sultan Mehmet Fatih Han said: `Either Istanbul will take me or I will take Istanbul. There is no other way.’ They said to him, ‘Are you crazy? Have you lost your mind? Do you know how protected this city is?’ He says, ‘Yes, I know. I know how it is. But I see a vision. And where my sword is reaching, where my power is reaching, not even your imagination can reach because you are not knowing Islam. I know and I am reaching there. Watch me.’ He reached. Watch us. Sheykh Effendi is saying, Watch us. We are reaching back to Istanbul. Watch. We are reaching back to Rome. Watch. All those fools who think that they are standing in front of Islam, in front of those ones, they are only giving energy and power to those who are working in the way of Allah. There’s an Ayat-e Kerima saying, BismillahirRahmanirRahim,’When they say to them, `All your enemies have come together, they are preparing against you’, that’s making their faith to grow stronger and they say, ‘Hasbinallah wa ni’mal wakeel. Allah is enough for me.”
Any safety that anybody is looking for in Dunya and in Akhirat, is Islam. Real Islam. Islam the way that the Holy Prophet (AS) brought. You can change all the signs, but the man who has a vision doesn’t need the signs anymore. He follows the road. He knows the road because there’s a light going in front of him. So, if you don’t know then you must follow that guide. You must follow his orders.”
We are asking for more faith. We are asking to have fear and hope and trust in our Lord, and in our Prophet, and in our Sheykh. We are asking to walk on the footsteps of the Heroes of Canakkale. We are asking protection from every evil. We are asking with the dua of Sayyid el-Evliya Hz. Abu Bakr el-Siddiq: “O my Allah! I beg of You every good that is to come quickly, and which is to come slowly, and what is known, and what is unknown. And I ask You for Jannah and every word and action that brings me close to it. And I ask Your Protection from all evils that are to come quickly, and which are to come slowly, and the ones that are known, and the ones that are unknown. And I beg from you every good that Your Servant and Your Messenger Muhammad (AS) begged You for, and I ask Your Protection from everything that Your Messenger Muhammad (AS) asked Your Protection from. And I beg of You that You make the end of the work that You have destined for me, good for me.” Amin.
