Question: How should believers behave in situations like we are going through?

Believers should have intelligence, they should have faith. Right now, in this situation, whatever the law of the country that is putting up there, follow it. Don’t disobey. Follow. Because our hands are tight. Everyone is fearing that virus but they are not fearing Allah. Even now Muslims they don’t want to say, this is a punishment from Allah. Muslims. Kafir, I believe. Muslims they are laughing on Facebook, they say, ‘you know what? I heard some people saying this is punishment to the Chinese for the Uighur, it’s so funny.’ Yeah. High level scholars, thinking they are, they say, ‘yeah.’ What are we supposed to say? How this heart is going to carry?

It’s a punishment for everyone. You cannot say this is a blessing. It’s a punishment. Then, if you know it is a punishment, sit and think what you have done wrong to deserve that, that’s it. Sit and think which nations they have deserve that. What, do you need to be a genius to understand that? Estaghfirullahal adzim wa atubu ilaih. For the believers, fear Allah. Don’t fear that virus. Don’t have the panic of the virus, what’s going to happen. Panic that if Allah wants, He can take your life right now. You don’t have to have chills and go to testing. If Allah wants, tonight you will die and you have to face Allah SWT, you have to face, and that’s it. There is no support anymore. If you die tonight, that’s what you are going to leave with. Have a panic, every night to say, ‘what have I done today if the angel of death comes to me?’ Panic for that. Instead of panicking to say, ‘I have to have this much toilet paper….I have to have this much hot dogs, hot dog buns…’ instead of panicking about that, panic every night to say, ‘I did this wrong. I did these things wrong. Today, yesterday, my life, I’m going to ask for forgiveness.’ Panic that He may take your life and you are going to be in trouble if you don’t have proper tauba. And Allah, like I have said, is a Creator of that virus and if He wants, He can send it to everyone, if He wants, He can cure everyone. So turn back to Him and find the peace. The believer must find the peace, must have the peace. And the believer must accept that Allah, whatever He sent, it is with His wisdom, it is His will and there is hi’met and there is Khayr in it. You will find your peace.

So many people they fear and they say, ‘why it’s going to happen to me? I don’t want it to happen to me. It shouldn’t happen to me. I don’t want to die. If I get it, I’m going to die.’ Dying or not dying, we are all going to die but as a believer, how are you going to pass? It’s not the death that is the problem, it’s what you are going to leave with when you die. Like what Sheykh Effendi is saying, what are you filling up your grave with? Now you are scrambling to help and to do this, and to do that, maybe it’s too late. We are not challenging anyone. We are not challenging Allah. Estaghfirullah. So what happens when there is a cure? Everyone is going to be happy?

Yes, all the Muslims they will go out to the Ka’aba and start kissing the Ka’aba. They say, ‘shukr alhamdulillah. No more.’ But they don’t get it.  Allah SWT has sent so many of this plagues, especially in the 20th century, because 20th century man as Sheykh Effendi is saying, is the most barbaric. He has sent so many to the 20th century but people have attention span so short because dunya is so open to them. Now, in the social media, it’s a double head sword. So now this is the latest one, not the last, latest one, that Allah is sending, to make the whole world now to realise how weak, how fragile, how brittle this system that we are living in is now. This technology that we claim we can reach the moon, this technology that we say we can make a person to live forever, that we can do whatever we want, that we can be this, we can be that, today we are this, today we are man, tomorrow we are animal, today we…and with something so invisible, Allah SWT is just showing, this is a sign, it’s not even a power, this is just a sign. Don’t think Allah SWT went to battle with Namrud. It’s just a sign to us that we are so weak and if we are not going to take this sign when the cure comes, to say, estaghfirullah Ya Rabbi, we are not deserving of this, we are deserving of that, the plague, that’s why You sent it to us. Because we deserve it. We are not deserving of this cure, shukr, thank You, make us to become better ones. That’s something. But I wonder how many are going to do that if it comes. They are going to be so happy. Everywhere is going to be filled with people. We are going to continue.

I’m not saying, go and have the virus challenge. These idiots, those ones, ‘if we pray, we don’t pray, they are going to get it.’ They are doing it like that. You understand? They even licked the toilet bowl. They should lick all toilet bowls and no toilet paper for them too. You see how crazy mankind is. They are licking the door knobs and everything right? Taking the challenge. I’m not saying that. I’m saying, take your precautions, be clean, all of those things, don’t go around too much, don’t go to heavily populated areas, live a simple life, stay home more, don’t go outside. All these advice, is only now we are saying? Sheykh Effendi has been saying it for decades. Sheykh Mevlana has been saying it for decades. Do you remember that time when there was a man that is living here, not married at that time? Do you remember how he stayed here for months and months and months, that just to go out to the grocery became like such an adventure, to go out to salvation army is such an adventure and coming back here, to give us that feeling that we can do it, we are supposed to do it. There was no virus, no mirus at that time, and Sheykh Effendi is saying, ‘you are going to go out there and collect your sheytan. Huh, where did you go today? I can see, all your nur is taken away from your face.’ All the time.

Virus? Sheytan is more dangerous than that one. He has been giving this kind of advice for decades and this is something that we must put in ourselves not to be so free. Even if you have to go, you have to say so much estaghfirullah. Quickly go and say estaghfirullah, not to feel too happy. And if you are going, you are not learning anything, that is going to be wasted. You have to know. Don’t have to tell anyone. How the believer is going to behave? Believers are not together anyway. Believers are not following anyone anyway. They are not. Now you are starting to understand how important the community is, how important your neighbors are, how important people around you are. Good morning. All your millions in your bank is not going to help you when you have no one to help you. May Allah wake us up, insyaAllah. Fatiha.
