All praises are due to Allah, Lord of the Universes. He Jalla wa’Ala says in Surah al-Saff: Auzubillahimina sheytanir rajim BismillahirRahmanirRahim “All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth glorifies Allah, and He is the Mighty, the Wise. O You who believe! Why do you say what you do not do. It is most hateful in the Sight of Allah that you say that which you do not do. Indeed, Allah loves those who battle for His cause in ranks, as if they were a solid structure. And remember, when Musa said to his people- “O my people! Why you do you persecute me, when you know well that I am Allah’s Messenger to you?” So when they deviated, Allah sent their hearts astray. And Allah does not guide the evil-living folk. And when Isa the son of Maryam said, “O Children of Mary! Truly I am the Messenger of Allah to you, confirming that which was revealed before me in the Tawrat, and bringing good tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad.” But when he came to them with clear proofs, they said, this is clear magic! Who is more zalim than the one who invents lies against Allah, even when he is being invited to Islam. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing folk. They want to put out the Light of Allah with their mouths- but Allah will perfect His Light, even though the unbelievers hate it. It is He Who has sent His Messenger with Guidance and the Religion of Truth, so that He may make it the conqueror of all religions- even though the idolaters may hate it. O you who believe! Shall I lead you to a bargain that will save you from a painful doom? You should believe in Allah and His Messenger, and you should strive in the Cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives. That is better for you, if you only knew! He will forgive you your sins and bring you into Gardens beneath which rivers flow, and pleasant dwellings in Gardens of Eternity- that is the Supreme Triumph. And He will give you another blessing that you love- help from Allah and a speedy victory. So give the Good News to the believers!” Sadaqallahul Azim (61:1-13).
And may all peace and blessings be upon the Giver of the Good News and the Warner, the Basheer, the Nazeer, Sayyidina Muhammad (AS). Hz. Hasan al-Basri (KS) said: “Whoever wants to drink the fullest cup from the Pond of the Holy Prophet (AS) should say: Ya Allah! Bless Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad and his Companions and his sons and wives and descendants and his Ahlul Bayt and his relations by marriage and his Ansar and his Followers and those who love him, and bless us along with all of them, ya Arham-ar Rahimeen!” Amin!
May peace and blessings be upon his Chosen Representatives, the Khulafa-e-Rashideen, Hz. Abu Bakr el-Siddiq, Hz. Umar el-Faruq, Hz. Osman el-Ghani, and Hz. Ali el-Murtaza, and all those who follow them until the Last Day. May all peace and blessings be upon the Guides of the Caravan of the Naksibendi Tarikat, who lead to the Sacred House with a Secret Path that has been guarded by the inheritors of Siddiq el-Akbar. May peace and blessings be upon the Noble Padishahs of the Ottoman Empire, whose blood, spirits, and lives, were spent and sacrificed for the Sake of the Prophetic Mission. May peace and blessings be upon all those who honor them until the Last Day.
Allahumma Barik lana fi Sha’ban, wa ballighna Ramazan, wakh-tim lana bil Iman, wa yassir lana bil-Kuran (O Allah! Bless us in Shaban, and let us reach Ramazan, and let us to seal it with Faith, and let it be made easy for us through the Holy Kuran). Amin, insyaAllah ar-Rahman.
Ya Ayyuhal Mu’minoon! O Believers! We are in an unending state of Thankfulness to our Lord Allah (SWT), that He has created us from the Ummat of Habibullah (AS). We should be. Holy Prophet (AS) says, “Whoever says in the morning, I am pleased with Allah as a Lord, with Islam as a deen, and with Muhammad (AS) as a Prophet, I am the leader who will take his hand to take him into Paradise.” (Tabarani). Ya Allah, be witness that we are pleased with You as our Lord, with Islam as our religion, and with Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammad as our Prophet. And we come to this thankfulness and this being pleased through the Mercy of Allah. Allah (SWT) is sending His Mercy in so many ways, and one is through the changing of the night and the day.
He (SWT) is saying, BismillahirRahmanirRahim “Wal ‘asr. I swear by time. Indeed, man is in a state of loss. Except those who believe and do good works, and encourage each other to the Truth, and encourage each other to Patience.” Sadaqallahul Azim (103:1-3). Allah SWT, in one way, is saying and is swearing by the Time that all of mankind is losing except those who are running in the Way of Allah, and sitting in the Sohbet of Hakk and Sabr. Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah that the time that we are in is a time of Mercy. Alhamdulillah we have now completed the Month of Rajab, and inside it are the Nights of Raghaib and Miraj. And we have completed more than half of the Month of Shaban, the Prophet’s Month. And we have just completed the Night of Nisfu Shaban, Leylatul Beraat, the Night that Allah (SWT) has designed to forgive and clean His Servants. So when we pass such Nights that have been granted to us from a Merciful Lord, how can we be anything other than pleased with Him, with the Religion He has granted us, and with the Prophet (AS) He has sent to guide us.
Beraat came and passed. Inshallah we passed our Beraat. Inshallah we did not lose in that night. Sultan el-Evliya Seyh Mevlana Muhammad Nazim Adil el-Hakkani (KS) is saying: “So many unexpected things are approaching, because time is over. A Heavenly Order was issued on the 15th of Shaban which we will see coming into force before next Ramazan… We need to be careful. Don’t place yourself as a target of Divine Revenge…Keep Divine Discipline, otherwise you will become a target for Divine Revenge. Whoever does something forbidden will be hit by an arrow of Divine Revenge.”
Beraat Night is a Night to take cover from those arrows of Divine Revenge that are raining onto the world. How do we retreat from Allah’s Anger? Allah SWT is giving the answer in the Holy Kuran, in Surah Tahreem, saying: BismillahirRahmanirRahim “O you who believe! Save yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is men and stones, over which are appointed stern and severe angels who don’t flinch from carrying out the Commands they receive from Allah, but they do exactly what they’re commanded. They will say, “O Unbelievers! Make no excuses this day. You are being paid for what you used to do.” O you who believe! Turn to Allah with a sincere repentance- Tawbatan Nasooha. In the hope that your Lord will remove your misdeeds and bring you into Gardens underneath which rivers flow- on the Day when Allah will not permit the Prophet and those who believe with him to be humiliated. Their Light will run before them and on their right hands, and they will say, “Our Lord! Perfect our light for us, and forgive us! Truly You have power over all things.” Sadaqallahul Azim (66:6-8).
When Allah says, O you who believe, then believers must take warning. Allah (SWT) is saying, turn to Allah with sincere repentance. And what is sincere repentance, Tawbatan Nasooha? Sheykh al-Azam Pir Sultan Abdul Qadir el-Geylani (KS) is saying the difference between a heedless Tawba and a real Tawba. He is saying the difference. He is saying: “If someone repents, but only of the outer aspect of his sins, he is like someone who cuts a weed on the ground level, and doesn’t take out the roots- it’s going to grow again, even thicker. But someone who is really sorry of his sins and bad egoistic characteristics, he is like someone who digs the weeds out from the roots, so they won’t grow again. If the bitter trees are not uprooted, the sweet trees will not take their place.” (Kitab Sirr al-Asrar).
What are the Evliyaullah teaching us, to reach to this real Tawba, to take out the evil characteristics that is rooted inside of us? Allah (SWT) is giving a sign, an Isharet in the next ayat, saying that He will never humiliate the Holy Prophet and those who believe with him- meaning the people have the Iman of the Prophet (AS). And He is saying that they are the Ehli Nur, and they will never be in the Naar. So what is the sign there for an intelligent person? That the Path to Tawbatan Nasooha, the Path to a Sincere Repentance, it must be with the Holy Prophet (AS) and the People of His Iman, the Ehli Nur.
And what are they telling us about Tawba? Our Master, who is a Sahib-i-Nur, who has guided us to the Path of the Holy Prophet (AS), is opening the reality of Tawba to us, and opening the reality of what comes after Tawba. He is speaking to us about the Pir of the Mevlevi Tarikat, Hz. Mevlana, saying: “The modern people say, ‘we love Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi.’ Allah Allah. And? Do you love his Master, Hz. Muhammad (AS)? ‘No,’ they say, ‘he is a terrorist.’ Hasha Astaghfirullah. They say, ‘we love Mevlana, but we don’t love the Sun that is giving light to Mawlana. We love Mawlana because we made Mawlana in our heads. That kind of Mawlana, dancing Mawlana. So, dancing, easy going. What are you talking about, Shaykh Abdul Kerim? What you are saying, that your lineage is reaching to Mawlana Jalaluddin Rumi? Mevlana wasn’t like you, he wasn’t rough and tough like you.’ That shows you have no clue about Mevlana JELAL-uddin Rumi QADDASALLAHU SIRRUHU. That his murids they couldn’t even dare to look at his face. Yes. Name is on it, Jalaluddin. Jalaluddin. What is the meaning of Jalaluddin? Jalal, with the majestic anger power that is putting everything in the right road.
And he is, yes, this door is opening to you, if you broke your Tawba, not one time, one thousand times, come again. But when you come in, leave your arrogance outside and enter inside. Don’t enter inside here with your arrogance, with your shaytan. You broke your promise again. Come again. Because you have no other door. Only door is Islam. Only door is Quran. Only door is the teaching of Muhammad (AS). That’s why he says, I am the slave of the Kuran-i-Kerim, and I am the slave of footprint of Muhammad (AS). That’s what he is saying. He said, as long as I live, says if somebody says other than this. I am away from that word. And I am away from these people. Yes. But he said that almost 900 years ago. He said, I am away from you, you can claim that you love me, but loving me, I am a light to you, loving me must bring you to the Prophet (AS). If you are not reaching to the Prophet, your love for me is for your ego, it’s for your egoistic understanding.”
These are the Words of the Ehli Noor. What is Seyh Efendi explaining to us from the words of Mevlana Rumi? The Door of Tawba is always open. It is always open. But there are conditions to entering that door. You cannot enter that door with arrogance. You cannot enter that door with your sheytan. You cannot enter that door with your ego. You have to leave it all outside the door. And if you come inside and bring your arrogance and your ego again, you are going to get kicked out again- you broke your Tawba. But Tawba in Arabic means to return- you break your Tawba, you have to return. Again and again and again, you have to keep returning to that door- even if you break your promise a thousand times. And where does that door lead, where does that road lead? Seyh Efendi is saying- the only door is Islam. The only door is Kuran. The only door is the teaching of Muhammad (AS). What is that, what is he saying? The door of Tawba brings a man back into the borderlines of Islam. The door of Tawba brings a man back into the Shariatullah. Shariat. A word that Muslims and non-Muslims hate to hear today. A word that when people hear it, they think of cutting this and cutting that, and men with turbans beating women in the street.
Muslims have nightmares to think that one day the Shariat will come back. Muslims are hoping and praying that the Shariat will not come back. The majority are thinking this way. But the Holy Prophet (AS), the Prophet that so many of them claim to love, he came to bring the Shariat. Not that Shariat that everyone made in their heads. The real Shariat. The Shariat that shows what is Halal and what is Haram. The Shariat that gives rights to a Sultan and gives rights to a porter. The Shariat that gives rights even to the animals to not be overburdened. The Shariat that was a shining example of Justice in the world for 1300 years. That is the Shariat that Holy Prophet (AS) had. And Sahib el-Sayf and Hz. Mevlana are saying that a true Tawba will make a man to fit himself within the bounds of the Shariat. Because when a man is following the Shariat, he becomes beloved to Allah. Because the Shariat is, in reality, the Way of the Holy Prophet (AS). And whoever walks on that way is in the station of safety.
Sahib el-Sayf is talking about the wisdom of the Shariat. He is saying: “Western understanding is bringing weakness to people and when that weakness is entering then slowly they start taking out the laws saying, “This is cruel. Take it out. This is not human-like. Take it out. This is not this. This is not that”, and then they say, “We make religion as we like. We are going to live like worse than animals. We are free. We have to do what we want.” And Allah is saying to Shariat, to the Law and the law-makers saying, “Keep the sword out and keep the sticks in the water for Falaka.” When the sword was out and the sticks were ready for Falaka then you found people doing everything 100% correctly, running. No one was running to break the laws of Allah then, at least not openly. If they were going to break it, they were doing it hiddenly, watching one million times, saying, “Oh, if we get caught then this is what is going to happen to us.”
All western philosophy and philosophers still have not reached to this understanding of mankind and his nature- for Mercy and Fairness to rule, man must know his limits, and there must be an authority to enforce those limits. Without this, the world spins out of control into the cruelty that we see today. When the rules are taken away, they are replaced by tyranny. When the Rulers are taken away, they are replaced by oppressors and Tyrants, and this is the condition of 21st century man.
We are destroyed today because we left the rules of Allah, the noble Shariat. And Holy Prophet (AS) warned us about this. He warned us. Once, a noble woman of lineage had stolen something, so her family asked for her not to be punished according to the Shariat. And the Holy Prophet (AS) said, “The nations before us were destroyed because if a noble person committed theft, they used to leave them, but if a weak person committed theft, they used to punish them. By Allah! If Fatima, the daughter of Muhammad (AS) stole, then Muhammad (AS) would cut off her hand.” (Bukhari and Muslim).
This is the principle that underpins the Justice of Islam. And the Rulers of Islam were the first to put this condition on themselves. Who are those Rulers? The Pillar of Justice Hz. Umar el-Faruk (RA) is describing them, saying: “By Allah, Ya Ibn ‘Abbas, only the person who is strong without violence, the one who is gentle without being weak, the one who is economical but without being miserly, and the one who is generous without being wasteful is worthy of this affair.” (Mawardi).
Sahib el-Sayf had a deep Muhabbat for Hz. Umar. And Sahib el-Sayf, he had an Ashk for the Shariat and the Khilafat. Yes, Holy Prophet (AS) said if Hz Fatima did that, I would have punished her. Hz. Umar el-Faruk, he had to live that reality. Sahib el-Sayf is telling the story, saying: “I love Hz Umar. I love Hz Umar. You don’t know what he did? He had a son, one son he was pretty weak, and some people fooled that son. Doesn’t matter where a man’s lineage is reaching, sometimes, when he is opening door to shaytan, he’s going to get fooled. And they fooled him. He went and he did some wrong things to a woman. And later, the news spread, Hz Umar’s son did this. They made it open. And Hz Umar is the Khalifa. Everybody knows that he is a heavy duty one. He doesn’t tolerate nothing when it comes to that. Yes, he never used anything for himself from the Hilafet Makam. Never. He was even turning the candle off, when he was going to do his private things. He was turning the candle off, that Khilafat is paying for it, saying, I am using my candle that I worked for.
So they came to Hz Umar and they said this is what happened. When he looked into it, and found it was true, he says, “good, where is the Sheykhul Islam?” He says, “what is your fatwa?” He is the Khalifa. They say, “fatwa is this. 100 time falaka. Lashes to him.” He says, “good.” And he signed it. He is the Khalifa. And he says, “because it’s my son, and I am the Khalifa, I am not going to do this inside the jail, or in other places. I am going to do this publicly. And everybody is going to come to see it.” Everyone is going to know that Hz Umar he just punished his own son this way. And he chose the heaviest one, that his hands are very strong. Saying, “do it right. Don’t be tolerant, don’t be easy in hitting. Do it right.” And the son was a weak one. When they reached 80 lashes, he died. And they all stopped. Hz Umar is saying, “why did you stop?” They say, “ya Umar, he died.” He said, “no continue till 100, 20 more on his dead body. Because Allah says when somebody is punished in this dunya, he will not be punished in ahirat. At least complete it here, so he will not be punished on the other side.” That is Islam. That is the understanding of Islam.”
The world is missing the Umars of today. And because there is no Umar ruling, the world fell into the worst cruelty. Hz. Umar is al-Faruk- and the distinction between the Ehli Dunya and the Ehli Ahiret is seen in those who love Hz Umar and those who hate Hz. Umar. Ehli Ahiret, Ehli Jannat, Ehli Hakk, they are all in love with Hz. Umar because they know he represents true justice. And they know that without that justice, the world will sink into the depths of cruelty- the Jababira that we are seeing today.
There were inheritors of Hz. Umar. Yes, there were those who would wear the sword of Hz. Umar when they took the Khilafat- they are our Holy ancestors, the Osmanlis. They built an Empire that was clearly only founded for the purpose of spreading Justice. Not for themselves, not for their families, not for the Turks- it to bring Adalet. Listen to the proof in the last will of the First Sultan, Sultan Osman Gazi, saying to his son: “O my son! Be careful about the Shariat before everything else. The Shariat builds a strong state. Don’t give religious duties to careless, faithless, and sinful men, or to inexperienced people. Because the one without fear of Allah al-Khaliq, the one who is without the fear of Allah the Creator, does not fear the Makhluq, will not fear the creation.
The ones committing great sins and continuing in them cannot be loyal. If that person was loyal he would not violate the Shariat…When you hear about Salih people and Evliya, make close relationships with them. Take a lesson from me, because I came to these places as a weak leader and I reached to the Help of Allah although I didn’t deserve it. Follow my way! Protect the Din-i-Muhammed (AS)! Protect the believers! Protect your people! Respect the Rights of Allah and His Servants. Depend on Allah’s help in establishing justice and fairness, and remove cruelty.” This is what the world is missing today. The world is missing a Son of Osman to carry out the will of Sultan Osman.
Beraat passed and the world is changing. Everything is changing, overnight. The world could not imagine that we would be in this condition today. But there are some who not only imagined it, but they saw and they warned. And they have been warning mankind for generations. Ramazan is approaching. Perhaps the Baytullah and the Rawza-i-Resul will be closed for Ramazan. Things that never happened before are happening. Because Allah (SWT) is Al-Qadeer- He does whatever He likes.
We are asking Allah, the Allah of Endless Power, to change this world to return to the Shariat. We are asking Allah Zul Jalal to change this world to return to the Khilafat. We are asking Allah to bring back the Ottomans. We are asking Allah to accept our Tawba and to count us as those who, in this worst of times, they are hoping and wanting to be from the servants of the Khilafat. We are thanking Allah (SWT) for letting us to be in the Jamaat of Sahib el-Sayf, who is teaching us how to reach to Allah’s Pleasure. We are asking to survive these days with our faith. Amin.
