Eid Khutba: Wake Up Before The Last Call

Ya ayyuhal mu’minun al hadirun ittaqullaha ta’ala wa ati’uh inna allaha ma allathina-ttaqaw wallathina hum muhsinun. Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La Ilaha Ilallahu Wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Wa Lillahil Hamd. Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Alameen. Wa Salatu wa Salamu ala Ashrafil Ambiya’i wa Imam al-Mursaleen Sayyidina wa Sayidinna Mawlana Muhammadin wa ala alihi wa sahbihi ajmain.

Auzubillah Minashaitan Nirajim. BismillahirRahmanirRahim. “Praise be to Allah, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, Who appoints the angels as messengers having wings- two, three, and four. He multiplies in creation what He will. Truly, Allah is Able to do all things. That which Allah opened unto mankind of Mercy, none can withhold it- and that which He withholds, none can release thereafter. He is the Mighty, the Wise. O mankind! Remember the Favor of Allah toward you! Is there any creator other than Allah who provides for you from the sky and the earth. There is no Allah except him- so how are you deluded? And if they deny you, (ya Muhammad), messengers (of Allah) were denied before you. Unto Allah all things are brought back. O Mankind! Truly, the Promise of Allah is true. So don’t let the life of this world trick you, and don’t be tricked about Allah by the Deceiver. (35:1-6).

May all peace and blessings be upon Hazret Fakhr-i-Alem, Sayyidina Muhammad Mustafa (AS). “Ya Allah! Truly, you are our only Means. And we beg You and we turn our faces toward You with your Holy Book, and for the sake of the Noble Prophet sent by You, Sayyidina Muhammad (AS), and for the sake of his glorious nobility, and for the sake of his forefathers, Hz. Ibrahim and Hz. Ismail, and for the sake of his Sahaba, Sayyidina Abu Bakr el-Siddiq and Sayyidina Umar el-Faruk, and Hz. Osman Zul-Nurayn, and his Ahlul Bayt, Hz. Fatima, and Hz. Ali, and their sons Hz. Hasan and Hz. Huseyin, and his uncles Hz. Hamza and Hz. Abbas, and his blessed wives Hz. Khadija and Hz. Ayesha). (Salawat of Sheykh Abdul Qadir el-Geylani).

May the peace and blessings of Allah (SWT) be upon them for eternity. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Noble Mashayikh of the Most Distinguished Naksibendi Way. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon the Lions of the Shariat, the Ottoman Sultans. May peace and blessings be upon all those who seek refuge under their shade until the Last Day.
(Eid Takbirs- Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha il-Allahu Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar wa lillahil Hamd).

Ya Ayyuhal Mu’minoon! O Believers! Eid Mubarak. Ramazan Bayram Mubarek Olsun. Today is the Day of Eid. The Sultan of the Eleven Months, our honored guest, who we just welcomed, has taken leave from us. Ya Shahru Ramazan, be pleased with us! Ya Shahru Ramazan, intercede for us! Ya Shahru Ramazan, don’t complain about us in the Judgment Day. Ya Shahru Shawwal, we welcome you.

Today is an Eid for the Servants of Allah. Today is an Eid for those who spent their days fasting with sincerity, who spent their nights standing in praise of their Lord, and who took this month to take another step against to their ego. For such people, today is an Eid. Insya’Allah we are trying to walk in the Way of Shah-e-Mardan. Once someone saw him eating dry brown bread on Eid el-Fitr. When the person asked the reason Hz. Ali said, “Today is the Eid for someone whose fasting has been accepted, whose efforts have been deemed worthy, and whose sins have been forgiven. Today is an Eid for us, and tomorrow is an Eid for us. Every day when we don’t disobey Allah is an Eid for us.” (Ghunya). May Allah make everyday an Eid for us. May Allah make our life and our death in a reunion be an Eid for us. Amin.

O Believers! InsyaAllah, we are celebrating and the angels, insyaAllah, they are celebrating with us. Ghawth al-Azam is telling us the Hadith Sherif that, “Once the believers come to Eid Namaz and pray and make dua, Allah (SWT) will not leave them unless their needs are satisfied, their duas are answered, and their sins are forgiven. Then they return home, knowing they have been granted forgiveness.” (Ghunya). May we also find the forgiveness of our Allah today. May we also find the forgiveness of our Prophet today. May we also find the forgiveness of his friends and our Sheykh today. May we also find the forgiveness of those whose rights have been taken and we have been too weak to be able to stand up for them. May they forgive us too.

O Muslims! This Month is not just the Month of Fasting. For 1400 years, the Muslims have taken this month as Shahru Quran, the Month of the Book of Allah. It was in this Holy Month that the First Revelation came to Sayyid al-Awwalin wal-Akhireen, the Holy Prophet (AS), in the Cave of Hira, and it was in this Month that Hz. Jibril would come to review the Quran with Hz. Muhammad Mustafa. Fasting and the Quran are tied together in the Hadith of Holy Prophet (AS) when he said, “Fasting and the Quran will intercede for a servant on Judgment Day. Fasting will say, Ya Rabbi, I prevented him from food and drink during the day, so let me intercede for him. And the Quran will say, Ya Rabbi, I prevented him from sleeping during the night, so let me intercede for him. And therefore, both will intercede for that servant.” (Musnad Ahmad). For 1400 years, Muslims have taken this month as a time to return back to that Quran. That Quran is the Book of Allah. In that Quran are the Uncreated Words of Allah SWT. That Quran is the Message of our Rabb, our Lord, our Creator, to mankind from the lips of the Holy Prophet (AS). That Quran is given to us by Hz. Abul Qasim (AS), the Distributor, the Holy Prophet (AS). It was revealed into his heart, and it was spoken through his tongue, and it was spread through his effort.

As Believers we must understand how beautiful that Quran is. Do we understand what a gift that Quran is? That Quran is a Mujiza, a miracle of our Holy Prophet (AS). He (AS) is saying, “There was no Prophet except that he was given unique signs to put faith into the people. Truly, I have been given the Revelation that Allah has inspired in me, so I hope to have the biggest Ummat on the Day of Judgment.” (Bukhari and Muslim). Amin insyaAllah, and may we be that ummat. That Revelation, that Holy Quran, it is the addressing of Allah (SWT) to mankind. It is not meant to be read in ghaflat. It is not meant to be read with no meaning, with no feeling. That Quran came to bring the dead hearts to life. That Quran came to connect man back to his Lord. This is how the Sahaba-e-Kiram spoke about the Holy Quran. Hz. Hasan ibn Ali (RA) said, “Truly, those before you looked at the Quran like letters from their Lord. And they would think about it all night and crave it all day.” (Nawawi). And Hz. Abdullah ibn Masud (RA) is saying how to read the Quran, saying: “Do not scatter the Quran like dates falling from a tree, and don’t recite it quickly like poetry. Stop at its ayats that amaze you and let it move your heart. Don’t make your objective be to reach the end of the Surah.” (Akhlaq Hamalat al-Quran).

So what is that Quran? What is the Quran that the Sahaba are speaking about it with so much passion and love and tenderness? The Quran is saying what it is by itself. Allah (SWT) says, BismillahirRahmanirRahim. “This is a Book that We have revealed unto you- full of blessings, that they might reflect upon its revelations, and that the Ulul-Albaab (men of understanding) might be reminded.” (38:29) Sadaqallahuladzim. And Allah (SWT) is also saying, “Alif, Lam, Ra. This is a Book that we have revealed unto you (ya Muhammad) that you might bring forth mankind from darkness into light, by the permission of their Lord, to the path of the Mighty, the Exalted.” (14:1) Sadaqallahuladzim.

So what is the Quran telling us about itself? It is coming to the Holy Prophet (AS), and it is coming to wake mankind up, to take mankind out of the darkness that they have made to themselves, and to return to their Lord, Allah (SWT). So the Quran is not just a book that you read quickly, that you don’t think about, that doesn’t enter your heart, and then you forget about after Ramazan. That is not the Quran. Our Sheykh, Sahib el-Sayf Sheykh Abdul Kerim el-Kibrisi el-Rabbani (KS) is speaking about the depth of the Quran, saying: “How do you know the Quran? Taking the Quran and reading a couple of ayat on the surface, you think you know the Quran? The Quran contains everything in it. The past, the present, the future and eternity is in the Quran. This is like somebody looking at the top of the ocean and saying, ‘I just discovered the ocean because I have a couple of ships going on top of the Ocean.’ He is giving description of the ocean saying, It’s just a couple of ships and some fishes in there.’ Dive in there under the ocean and look what’s happening. And in order for you to dive you have to be an expert, you have to be given permission. Quran is containing all those oceans in it. Everything. This world is nothing. It’s only a dot.” But today so many people are looking and concentrating at the surface of the Quran and are saying, this is all there is. It is not. That Quran is an ocean. And those who don’t get a taste of the depth of the Quran, they are being rejected by the Quran itself.

Hz. Mevlana Jelaleddin Rumi is speaking about the lutuf of the Quran, saying: “When you go into the Quran, but you don’t get any joy or opening, it is because your (manners) have caused the Quran to reject you. The Quran has deceived you and shown itself as ugly. It is able to show itself in any form it desires. If you show it manners, and seek its pleasure- if you water its fields and serve it from afar and strive in that which pleases it, then it will show you its beautiful face.” (Fihi ma Fihi). And Hz. Umar (RA) is saying that Holy Prophet (AS) said about this, “Truly, Allah raises the status of people by this Book, and by it He humiliates others.” (Muslim).

Who is raised by the Quran, and who is humiliated by the Quran? Who sees the Quran as beautiful, and who sees the Quran as ugly? Allah (SWT) is giving us a sign toward this in Surah Najm, saying, BismillahirRahmanirRahim, “By the Star when it sets. Your companion (Muhammad) has not strayed, nor is he deceived. Nor does he speak of his own desire. It is nothing but an inspiration that is inspired, which One of Mighty Power has taught him.” (53:1-5) Sadaqallahuladzim. It is an Inspired Inspiration. And it is an Inspired Inspiration taught to the Beloved of Allah, Hz. Muhammad Mustafa (AS). Whoever reads the Quran and it brings him into the Way of Holy Prophet (AS), that person is raised by the Quran. That person sees the beauty of the Quran. Because, isn’t the Holy Prophet (AS) the manifestation of the Quran?

Our Sheykh, Sahib el-Sayf is opening this for us saying: “You need a living guide. If you are taking the Quran by yourself, you are reading by yourself and you are not looking, then that means you didn’t understand the ayats of the Quran where Allah is saying to you, “Go and find a guide.” You are looking at that Quran with blind eyes. So you are not understanding anything. Quran is not just for you to recite nice words and that’s it. It’s for us to read, understand and to live according to that. When Holy Prophet (AS) passed from this life they came and they asked Hazrat Aisha (RA) saying, “What was the Prophet’s life like?” She said to them, “Don’t you read the Quran?” They said, “Yes.” She said, “His life, his manner was the manner of the Quran. He was a living Quran.” Not words, but he was a living Quran. His actions, his works and everything that he was doing was a living Quran. Who asked her? The Sahaba-e Kiram. The Sahaba and those who came to Islam right after. So many of them have experienced the Holy Prophet (AS). It is to teach us that we must not leave a guide aside. Leaving the guide aside, meaning, you may listen, you may hear but don’t listen and hear like a donkey. Hear, listen, understand, take it, put it into your life and change, change from the wrong way to the right way.” And the words of the friends of Allah they speak the truth.

Without a Guide, there is no Quran for you. Without a Guide, there is no Quran for me. Without a Guide, the Quran becomes just words. Don’t we see, if Allah had wanted He would have sent the Quran without a guide, without the Prophet (AS). But He did not. He did not even make the Prophet (AS) to take a Book and to read from it. The Quran came from the Prophet (AS), it is inspired by the Holy Presence of our Lord Allah SWT. It is the Holy words of our Lord Allah SWT but it is through the lips and the tongue of our Prophet (AS) and he was there not just to recite the Quran but to guide the Quran, to guide us to the meanings of the Quran. It is not just words.

It is the words of Allah. And the Words of Allah have always been transmitted through a Messenger. And our Messenger (AS), his Message did not die with him. Hasha. It continued and it is continuing. It is continuing through those with Real Knowledge, through the Evliyaullah. And they are telling us what the Quran is saying for now, in our time. They are telling us what the Quran is saying to a nation that has been forced to hide inside their homes by a microscopic disease. They are telling us what the Quran is saying to those who have been banned from the Houses of Allah. They are telling us what the Quran is saying to those who cannot even enter to the Kaaba Sherif or the Rawza Mubarak. They are telling us what the Quran is saying to a disobedient nation that is starting to feel the heat of the punishment of Allah. And this is still nothing. Allah is still warning us to wake up. To wake up before it is too late. Wake up before you are laid prostrate in your homes. The time for the Mercy of Allah is finishing, and the time for the Azaab of Allah is coming. And the promise of Allah is true. The Zulm in this world has become too much for too long. The oppression in this world has become too much. The disobedience in this world has become too much. The cries of the Mazlum have reached to the Heavens. The pleas of the orphans have shaken the ‘Arsh. The tears of the innocent have been wiped by the soldiers of the One Who takes Revenge. A second flood is coming, but it is going to be a Flood of Fire. And the dua of Hz. Nuh (AS) is echoing again in the world, when he said: ‘My Lord, leave not one of the disbelievers in the land. If you leave them, they will mislead Your servants and won’t have any offspring except vulgar disbelievers. My Lord! Forgive me and my parents and whoever enter my house believing, and the believing men and the believing women- and don’t increase the wrong-doers except in destruction.” (71:26-28) Sadaqallahuladzim. Yes, this is the Tajalli that is coming to the world now.

So who is looking for the House of Nuh where there is safety? Who is looking for the Ship of Nuh where there is safety? Muslims think that they are safe. Muslims think that they can oppress, and be selfish, and not care, and be safe. Muslims think that they can live like unbelievers. Never it was like that, and never it can be like that. As sheytan was given an appointed time by Allah, this kind of disobedience and unbelievers are also given an appointed time by Allah. Ramazan should make us forget our selfishness. But we see that Muslims are becoming more selfish. Putting ten dollars in the sadaka box and thinking, that’s enough. I’m a good person. No. You’re not a good person. Allah (SWT) is saying, BismillahirRahmanirRahim. “You will never attain goodness until you spend of that which you love. And whatever you spend, Allah surely knows it.” (3:92) Sadaqallahuladzim. You have to give from whatever you love. Until you give from that, until you open the fist that you have closed so tightly and give from what you love, you are not good. You are not a believer.

O Believers! Wake up. Allah (SWT) is saying to us, over and over in the Holy Quran, to wake up. Holy Prophet (AS) and his Sahaba are telling us to wake up. All Awliya are screaming to us to wake up. Our Sheykh is screaming to us wake up, because the punishment is about to come. Sahib el-Sayf is saying: danger is everywhere. The signs that the Holy Prophet (AS) said, the signs of the last days are everywhere. The signs of danger is everywhere. But the 21st Century people are heedless and headless. We must wake up before the last call. We must take our side. Side with Haqq, not with Batil. You cannot be having Haqq and Batil in the same heart. Impossible. You cannot be working for Allah and Sheytan together. Impossible. You must get rid of it. And advice to you, get rid of the Sheytan. Get rid of it. Control your ego. Step on it. Don’t think that you are the only creature that has been created. Billions came before us, billions are living now, and who knows how many billions more coming. You are just one from that. Sit and understand that, ‘Yes, I have no value except as much faith I have to Allah and His Prophet (AS). And as much faith I have, that much I must run, that much I must run to keep my faith higher and stronger.’

Today is the Eid day. Today is the peak of the days of Rajab, and Shaban, and Ramazan. We passed the night of prizes, last night. Today is Eid where we collect our prize. These days came to make us better. Our prize must not be this dunya. Our prize must be Allah and His Prophet. If we became better, then we should celebrate. If we became worst, then we should cry. But you don’t have to become a Saint or a Scholar to know that this world has become worst and worst. It’s not getting better. And Allah SWT is giving us a sign and a punishment by closing the doors of every masjids on the face of the earth from saying His Takbir on this holy day. We should cry a little bit. Allah is still warning us and if we are not taking the warning, we will cry a lot, dunya and ahiret. Allah (SWT) has given us this breath of life. This breath of life is not for us. It is not for our children, it is not for our wives, it is not for our family, it is not for our country, it is not for our tribe. This breath of life is for Him SWT. This breath of life is for His Holy Prophet, and their Friends. What is a life without honor? We must live according to this honor. We must live with passion. We must live with Shahadat. We must live with the intention to open the doors of faith, to open the doors of worship and obedience to Allah SWT, and to bring the Light of Islam into every home. We must live with the intention. We are weak, maybe we cannot do anything, but we must live according to this intention. We must put this as a priority and as an intention in our life, not as a back up plan. We must live with the intention of the Ottomans coming back. We must live with the intention of reaching to Mehdi (AS). We must live with the intention of establishing the Khilafat. That time, inshallah, every day will be an Eid for us. That time, inshallah, we will be in happiness in this life and the next life.

May Allah (SWT) accept our Ramazan. May Allah (SWT) accept our Siyam. May Allah (SWT) accept our Qiyam. May Allah (SWT) accept our recitation of the Holy Quran. For the sake of the Living Quran. For the sake of his inheritors. For the sake of our Sheykh, Sahib el-Sayf. May Hakk rise. May Batil fall. May the lions of Allah enter the Meydan. Amin.
