Destur. Medet Ya Sahibulsaif Sheykh Abdul Kerim el-Rabbani. Medet. Hasbinallah wa ni’mal wakeel. La hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil aliyyil azim. Tariqatuna sohbet wa khayru fil jamiat. We are repeating the words of our Sheykh, repeating the words of his Sheykh, that the Holy Prophet (asws) is saying, “Din-i Nasihat.” Religion it is advice. But the Evliyaullah, they know their manners. They say only Prophets they give advice. We are not Prophet. We give sohbet. That is why the pir of our Tarikat Shahi Naksibendi is saying, ‘our way it is founded on sohbet, association, and the goodness comes from the association.’
Association, a Holy gathering. Association, where you come with an empty cup, they will fill it for you. Association, where you leave your ego behind and you come in to hear, to listen, you open your heart and you wait. We wait. This is not something that we prepare. We wait and we ask them whatever that is necessary for them to send to us. Whatever that is necessary, whatever the hearts are looking for, it will come. Some people they come empty, some people they come full, some people they are there but they are not there. You are there physically but you are not there spiritually, circling around somewhere else. There are others who are elsewhere, right now they are crying, they say, ‘we cannot be with you.’ Some they are elsewhere and they are crying, they say, ‘we cannot even look at you on the internet because my family they hate you so much that they turn off the internet,’ so that they cannot watch. I say, don’t worry, you are with us. Sit somewhere quiet, connect yourself with us, you get a different sohbet then that time. Because of your longing and your passion, you may get even a better sohbet than what I’m giving right now.
So the sohbet, it is to make us to increase our faith, to make us change, to make us to find meaning in our lives. The sohbet it is taking the words of Allah SWT and the words of the Holy Prophet (asws), and it is to present it in such a way that those heart that are looking for them, you are going to get it. You are going to understand it. You are going to believe in it. You are going to taste it. The Evliyaullah they are doing that for you. They are like a cook, taking something that is in its pure form, cutting it, putting other things in it, making it to taste so good and to serve it to you, so that you can taste. Because majority they cannot taste. Majority they are not at that level where they are going to take something in its pure form and taste. In fact, so many will misunderstand then. They are taking directly from the Quran, directly from the hadiths, and they will misunderstand and they will use it for the sake of Sheytan and the ego. But when you see it being presented to you by our Sheykh, by the Evliyaullah, that is so simple, that is so beautiful, it will take away doubt from you. Because the Evliyaullah they are not sitting to talk about something that is going to make you to be impressed with how much they know. When you sit with scholars, it’s like that, subhanaAllah, how much they know, how much they know, how much they know. You sit with our Sheykh, with the Sheykh, whatever they tell you it is like a light bulb, it goes off in you, ‘of course it is. I know this already. I know this and I know this.’ Because what they are doing is that they are not putting something to you in reality, they are taking that away, that veils away from you, so that you come to an understanding.
The faith doesn’t come from the outside. It comes from the inside. Who can say that Allah did not put faith in them? Who can say? Which son of Adam that is not born with Islam, not born with Iman, not born with guidance? And Allah is saying, ‘I am closer to you than your jugular vein,’ not to Muslims. He is not saying that to the Arabs or to the Pakistani. He is saying that to everyone. Believer and unbeliever. ‘I am close to you.’ Because what the Evliyaullah they do is they say, whatever that you are searching for, that is so far away, that you are looking everywhere, it is right in front of you. It is there. Just open your eyes a little bit. Everything is in front of you. The mercy of Allah is there. The signs of Allah is there. The azab of Allah is there. What you are looking for, it is right in front of you, only if you understand. Only of if you remove the veil. Only if you take a guide.
We are very blessed to be in the sohbet of our Sheykh. Otherwise we know we’ve gone through everywhere, we read every book maybe, but in order to get that faith, the faith of the Evliyas, the faith of the beloved of Allah, you cannot find it in books. That time you have to sit and you have to be with those ones who are beloved to Allah who has faith. And what they offer you is something that they themselves they have tried. That they themselves they have experienced. That’s what makes their work, their words, to be completely different from anyone else. Because the best kind of knowledge is the knowledge that you experience. If you have not experience that knowledge, in reality there is no permission for you to speak. You have not experience it, why are you speaking?
May Allah deepen our faith. Everything that is happening around us, check yourself : ‘Is this giving me more faith?’ Yes. Continue. ‘Is this taking faith away from me?’ Yes it is. Stop. Look. Check. ‘Is this making me to understand more?’ Yes. Continue. ‘is this making me to misunderstand?’ Yes. Stop and check. We must not be stubborn. It is a characteristic of sheytan. We must be fair. We must look. We must hold on to our Sheykh. Because we think that we can judge things by ourselves, but once we start doing that without proper guidance, and everyone who has left their guide, they are off somewhere. They feel that they are free. Yes, they are free. The ego is free, but not the spirit. That we may follow step by step then that time, the ways of those ones that they were in Siratul Mustaqim but they left the Sirat that Allah SWT was pleased with by those whom He had favored. They are following their own Sirat, after truth has been shown to them. In doing that, they are pulling the wrath of Allah, the anger of Allah, or they fall into deviation. More than forty times a day we are reciting this. If it doesn’t apply to us, why are we reciting this? We must check Insya’Allah.
May Allah keep us in Siratul Mustaqim. The Sirat of our Shekh dunya and Ahiret. May Allah forgive me and bless you. Al-Fatiha.
